Q: When will I receive a merchandise return card?

A: You will receive a merchandise return card for any approved non-receipted return. If a Merchandise Return Card was used to pay for any portion of the sale transaction, the guest will receive that portion of the refund in the form of a Merchandise Return Card.

Q: Can I redeem this card online?

A: No, you can only redeem this card in store.

Q: Why can’t I redeem my Merchandise return Card online?

A: To reduce fraud, we found it necessary to allow Merchandise Return Cards to be used only in stores. This change may also protect guests from purchasing fraudulent Merchandise Return Cards from third parties.

Q: Where can I check my balance?

A: In store only.

Q: Can I check my balance online or over the phone?

A: Card balance can only be checked in store.

Q: Where do I check my balance in store?

A: Bring this card to any cashier in a Target store to check your balance.

Q: I already have a merchandise return card, can a new return be added to the same card?

A: The merchandise return card is used for returns only. Value may not be added to the card.

Q: I already have my merchandise return card, can I add value to the same card with cash, etc…?

A: The merchandise return card is used for returns only. If you have a Target GiftCard, you can add value to that card.

Q: What if my merchandise return card was lost or stolen?

A: The original receipt is required to replace a lost or stolen card.To replace the remaining value on a lost, stolen or damaged card with the original purchase receipt, call 1-800-544-2943.

Q: Are there any restrictions redeeming the merchandise return card?

A: Yes, this merchandise return card can be redeemed for merchandise or services (other than gift cards and prepaid cards) only at Target Stores. The merchandise return card is not accepted at Target.com

Q: Can I give my merchandise return card to someone else to use?

A: No, the merchandise return card is non-transferrable.

Q: Do I have to have my ID in order to receive a merchandise return card?

A: Yes, you will be required to show your ID for a non-receipted return.

Q: Do I have to have my ID in order to redeem my merchandise return card?

A: We may ask you to show your ID upon redemption of your merchandise return card.

This merchandise return card can be redeemed for merchandise or services (other than gift cards and prepaid cards) at Target stores.

This card cannot be redeemed on Target.com or for cash or credit (except where required by law). The card value cannot be transferred to another merchandise return card, gift card or prepaid card. Card funds do not expire.

If you presented a government issued ID when we issued this card to you, we may require you to present the same valid ID to redeem this card. This card is not transferrable. This card may be deactivated if fraud, stolen goods or abuse is suspected.

Keep the receipt you received with this card. The original receipt is required to replace a lost or stolen card. For balance information, bring this card to any cashier in a Target store. Balance information not available online or over the phone.
