Beware- color does not hold when washed

I bought this rug for my kitchen because it’s soft and washable. I got the tan/white color combo and the first rug I received had obviously been used and was extremely dirty and yellow colored. To be fair to rugs.com they sent me a new one - and the 2nd one was exactly like the photos online - tan and white; however when I washed it for the first time it turned completely yellow. The tan dye is not color fast and runs - the whole rug now is a sort of dingy butter yellow color. I’ve tried washing a few more times to see if it would look more “clean” but no luck. Every wash load just has more color run. The tan stripe is now a terrible yellow color and the white stripe is a dirty light brown color. DO NOT BUY THIS RUG IF YOU EVER WANT TO WASH IT! Buyer beware. Obviously the first rug I got was someone else’s that had been returned for the same reason. It’s only $50 so not like I spent a fortune but I’m still out the $50 and looking for a new rug. All of the great reviews here are likely from initial receipt and pre-wash… I didn’t go back and review the description so my fault if it says not to wash it- but being a cotton rag rug there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to.
