Joovy Nook Compact Fold Swing Open Tray High Chair

This is my most hated piece of baby gear and I cannot wait until our 3rd baby is done with it & we can get rid of it. Besides being insanely difficult to clean (did they even try putting a kid in this to test all the spots they can jam food into?!), the leather seats quickly start to peel after being cleaned 3x a day. The seat is at a recline that cannot be adjusted so we always have to prop our baby up with towels so she’s sitting straight. One of the main features I wanted in a high chair is the ability fold it up since we have a small space. The folding mechanism is glitchy and once it is folded, it’s a big time tip hazard, so if anyone grazes it, the whole thing tips over and smashes toes. I would feel bad even giving this away for free; it’s going straight to the landfill.

We loved it prior to today when the base of both legs broke and my daughter fell straight back. Concerned parent and Wondering now if anyone else has had experienced malfunction

I love the concept of how easy it is to fold and the slide out tray. Unfortunately, my baby cannot sit straight in this high-chair. He slouches down no matter how many times we try to adjust him. There's not much you can do to the chair adjustment. Very dissapointed!

I loved how modern and easy it is to tuck away in the closet but that's about it. This thing has so many cracks and places that are impossible to clean. Was going to try to use it again with my next baby but I'd rather spend the money and buy something different.

You basically need a pressure washer to clean this thing thoroughly. The leather starts peeling after a year. Forgot there was a footrest because it was not adjustable/never used. This caused more headaches than necessary.

I wish I could give this zero stars. This is DANGEROUS. I’ve had two and both of them broke at the back joints after a period of time, both around the 2 year mark. I don’t fold it up everyday nor do I store it in a way that would B increase the risk for breakage. Super flimsy. Also, way way to much of a hassle to clean

This high chair is IMPOSSIBLE to get totally clean!!! I ignored reviews that mentioned how hard it was to clean because of the other features, which I like, but the lack of cleanliness outweighs all of the pros of this chair, in my opinion. Like I said, I love everything else about it (size, tray, folding, seat cushion, etc.), but the day-to-day hassle of having to clean every single tiny nook and cranny is annoying and time consuming. It also leans my toddler back while she eats instead of in a totally upright position.

It's nice for storage and I like how study and big it is when it's open. But it's a pain to clean (which was supposed to be the easy thing). And it doesn't fold open without using both hands (what's the point of the handy tray?) Not worth the money. Definitely better options out there.

No dislikes this is a great chair for the price… it folds easily and clean up is simple.

I like how compact, safe, and well made the high chair is but I LOATHE cleaning this chair after every meal. It is the worst and if I didn't have limited kitchen/dining space, I would have taken this back immediately.

this chair makes my baby slouch I constantly have to fix his posture. he doesn't do it on the graco high chair my mom has at her house. I have a 4 month old and not gonna use this for her.

In theory, I thought I would love this. It folds up easily, looks nice and is lightweight. But whoever designed this high chair doesn’t have kids. Or has kids who are freakishly clean eaters. Or wanted to find a unique way to torture parents everywhere as they try and keep the 700 crevices on the chair free of food remnants. This thing is an absolute nightmare to keep clean. And is far too reclined for early eaters. If you’re looking for a high chair, keep searching. This one isn’t the one.

I liked everything about this high chair like the fact that the tray slides open for convenience and that it has a nice minimal look to it yet durable at the same time. However, when I opened the box it all seemed new until I noticed underneath the legs had some dark scuff marks and there was some string sticking out of the fabric. I think that that they added new parts in the box because it had been used but left out a couple places. I really wanted everything to work out because I hate having to box everything back up and return. Hopefully Joovy can send me an actual new one!

The design of the tray on this high chair is amazing. It swings out, and has a removable clear plastic top which was so useful when my son got the “I’m gonna start throwing food” look in his eye. I also liked the overall look of the chair, and it did fold nicely and was lightweight. But, it’s too big. I finally stopped using this (should’ve put it aside a while back, more on that soon). My son is 35” tall, 30 lbs, and his feet still can’t reach the footrest without slouching. I am learning now as I expect number 2 that a correctly placed footrest and sitting up straight are really important to positive eating. My son is not a bad eater but he’s not great either! Very unfocused, not super open minded, and quite moody. He eats best when one of us sitting right across from him and allowing him to rest his feet on our knees! There is also a ton of space between the tray, even on the smallest setting, and his belly. It’s rough to get the seat pad off, but doable, and when removed you can get it very clean. But all the fancy folding hinges and whatnot on the chair itself are shockingly hard to clean. Maybe less food would have been thrown if he had had correct posture... But the main thing is: here is a product where the design is very cool but it just wasn’t built to last. Near the hinge, and I don’t even know when this happened because I hardly ever folded the thing up, the supports are completely broken other than some kind of cable that goes through the middle of the semi-flexible plastic. It looks so unsafe! Someone posted a picture of what this looks like... as part of an inexplicable 5 star review?Well, mine looks like that but with more food crusted in it... this didn’t even make it through my son’s life let alone being able to use it for a second child. I just bought myself an expensive Scandinavian minimalist high chair that I think will look better, be a better size, and be able to resell when I’m done, thus more than compensating for the increased price over the Joovy Nook. I will miss the awesome tray. I do have some super cute pictures of my baby with the teal color option, enjoying his food. But I can’t in good conscious recommend this product to anyone. Bad posture, didn’t last, unsafe!

Ease of putting it away and love how you can move the tray aside without removing it completely

Being a grandparent this high chair is perfect. It folds, the trap releases from the side and it has a bar to help them stay put. I have not had any problems cleaning it and it was definitely worth the purchase. A win win!

Folds up easily to be placed to the side of the room or in a closet. It’s easy to clean. The straps on this are way better than the Graco highchair and the tray is lighter and easy to maneuver when you only have one hand available bc baby is in the other. We like this highchair so much that we wound up purchasing a second to keep at grandma and grandpas

I like that it folds up and is easily put away, but you have to hose it off to clean it, and my one year old slides down in the seat because the back is reclined.

We love this chair- the one hand open and removeable tray are game-changers. The nooks and crannies are a bit annoying to clean, but its not terrible to daily wipedown, and then either remove the seat (machine washable!) or take it outside for a hose down. Used it for our first kid for years, and just bought another for the 2nd after we accidentally wrecked the first in storage.
