Broken shelf pieces, foam stuck to sections and won’t come off without leaving ugly marks, scratches on the shelf, chipped areas exposing the pressed light colored wood, base is even marked up on the front corner.

My husband and I put it together. Pretty easy. The issue with the hole not being in the correct place that one of the reviews mentioned was easily remedied. We just carefully used a drill to make the hole bigger. It looks really nice. There were a few places where the finish needed to be fixed, but the pencil that came with it did the job perfectly. All in all I would recommend this cabinet. It's very practical for storing all of our dvd's so you don't have to see them.

It’s nice, sturdy. Only issue I have is the left side locking mechanism that slides up into place to lock, that hole was not drilled in the correct place.

I loved the design for months before I bought it for my new house but found it less practical to use. It does hold all my DVDs, CDs, and VHS. It's very--awkwardly--short, and because the top of the cabinet comes out so far, it's inconvenient to get to the stuff under it without squatting or sitting on the floor. It's as cheap in quality as you should expect. I'm only 5' 2", and I can't even reach the handles without bending over. The handles should be towards the top instead of at the center. It's like it was made for children; this is not an issue I foresaw. The doors are pretty heavy once they're filled with media, and you must be very careful opening them so they don't slam into the side of the cabinet and get scratched. They should have hinges that don't open all the way. The doors when open go further back than the back of the cabinet, so you must keep it multiple inches away from the wall. Also I'd have preferred it in a very dark brown. The espresso is black. There are some shelves in it that are not moveable, which dictates where you can place items. I did not bother putting the lock part together, because I don't feel I need it. It doesn't have a magnet closure, but it does stay closed. Had I known all of the issues before ordering it, it is unlikely I would have bought it. But I want a closed cabinet to hide away media, which I had trouble finding, so I'll keep it, since I rarely actually use the media stored inside anyway. It's too much work to return anyway.

This cabinet is just the right size for my room, will hold plenty of DVDs, and seems pretty sturdy. I did find it pretty difficult to put together, as some of the screws were pretty hard to get in with a screwdriver. It did turn out nice and straight and all of the pre-drilled holes were in just the right places. I would advise inventorying all items before you start, as my kit was missing two screws. They were for the one door pull. I emailed the manufacturer 2 days ago to request they send the screws, but haven't had any response as of yet. However, I decided I don't like the modern-look of the door pulls anyway, so have already ordered 2 antique-look pulls from another company. All in all, I'd say it is a good cabinet for the money, but be prepared to spend some time on it - especially if you're putting it together without a helper.
