Comfortable but not waterproof

Very nice boot as far as looks and comfort but nowhere near water proof. The description says 100% guaranteed water wont get in! The first day I wore them my feet stayed dry. Everyday after that my feet have gotten progressively more wet with each wear. By the 3rd week of walking in the snow periodically throughout my work day my feet are soaked. Nice boot for working in dry weather, definitely not worth the steep price tag.

Want MASSIVE support and comfort? Go with Georgia!

I've owned a vast variety of boots throughout my life; everything from infantry boots, work boots, steel toes, loggers...none of them have felt as comfortable right out of the box and onto the jobsite as my recently purchased pair of Georgia lace-to-toe! To start with, I have a pretty bad knee from numerous injuries and even a couple of surgeries. Finding a good boot with massive support and above average comfort was going to be crucial. Georgia provided that in spades. This is the type of boot you can wear for twelve hours and not be dying to pry them off at the end of a long day. Although I didn't necessarily need a waterproof boot, I went with the lace-to-toe version because the entirety of the boot is constructed with full-grain leather. And while some waterproof boots run warm, these boots feel comfortable even on a hot summer day. I will say that if you're in between foot sizes, I found that these boots run a bit more wide in the toe and about half a size bigger than normal. But other than that, if you're looking for something lightweight, waterproof, with fantastic support, ventilation and comfort, I would highly recommend shopping with Georgia.

Ive had this boot for about six months and I have used them on my fishing trips. I have stood in water levels that were just below the Georgia logo on the tongue for a good 30 min, and my feet stayed completely dry.

The boots are very comfortable, but I had to take them in for repair. One of the eyelets came out the 2nd or 3rd time I laced them up.

Hardware Dies Need Re-Setting or Replacement

So far I have purchased and worn several pairs of 8010s; to be perfectly honest I also gave an earlier, more favorable review, but I have noticed a decline in QC. Most important, the hardware--especially for the speedlaces is not correctly set, and off-center strikes are easily visible on the reverse side (compared with earlier pairs). As a result, I actually had--for the first time with the 8010--a speedlace pin blow right out of the boot during lacing; shame because this pair fit beautifully--and, no, they do not all fit the same by size...On one newer pair I have also noticed the leather is not cut or stitched in a way that produces a uniform boot-body; some areas bulge and sag even when the boot is new--and I have not seen this before on the 8010 either. Both problems can and should be fixed via QC and Die Replacement/Reset for the Hardware. Having already treated them with O***f's LP, I will have the speedlace pin replaced locally rather than return them--if done right I expect this pair will be great, but it shouldn't have happened at all.

Bought a pair less than 2 months ago. And even just walking around pulling up trees at a nursary and pulling weeds already leak. Barely look worn. 2nd pair already after a week am wet. I had a different style gorgia a while back which did the same but those had a glued sole and the sole wore out and detached in less than a month went throu like 10 pair through the 6 month warranty. Those were just being worn walking in the woods and to and from he car. Somewhat in the store running errands but not putting any through heavy use. I dont believe i will ever choose georgia again

I've worked in law enforcement for seven years and have always worn an "urban" boot, but I got tired of the non-replaceable soles wearing out long before the boot. This Georgia has a heavy-duty, durable Vibram sole which is just what I need. They're comfortable, waterproof, look good, and are priced well.

3rd pair in a month

first pair, speed hooks didnt line up to the point they didnt work properly, had to painstakingly loop each lace around the speed hook. this also caused a lot of friction at the front high ankle, even after a 40 hour week in rainy conditions, i returned them as manufacture defect, the second pair made it to the car where i visually inspected them in detail and found the same issue, the speed hook were set at 1/2 inch apart on the left side of the boot and 3/4 inch on the right, I immediately took them back in. The authorized dealer of the Georgia boot was fantastic throughout this whole process, i received a third pair that did not have defective speed hooks, they have loosened up and now turn quite easily but my dealer assures me this is normal. Moving on, These boots fit great. I am 170 lbs 5' 9" with size 13 regular width. This particular model does mave a slightly smaller toe box than the lace to toe simialr product in brown. two different lasts, I prefer these as I have to kneel frequently at work and the larger toe box bends in on my toes and makes them sore over 10 hours. These boots are fairly watertight for being just leatherboots, If you work in wet conditions daily go GTX. The leather is of average quality, out of box it tends to fold in on itself and rub the high ankle and Achilles, this does go away once they are broken in, you can see how soft and veiny the leather is from the picture. These boot dry out very fast, havent had to use a boot dryer yet, which is impressive. No problems with stitching or any other part of the boot, the vibram oles are working fantastic. Overall the boots are priced appropriately. quality control could be better, but my experience with the customer service has been great. get what you pay for and for less than 200 you are getting a really nice boot. Although I am satisfied with my current boot, I will spend more money in the future and go with a better quality boot.

My apologies that it took going through two pair of defective boots to get to a pair that works for you. We are pleased to hear that your authorized dealer took care of you in the way that we expect you to be taken care of when purchasing out boots. Thank you for taking the time to write a thorough and objective review. This level of detail help other customers a great deal when they are researching their next purchase.

The quality of the leather is cheap, the finish is worn off the toe area after 2 wks. I could have gotten a comparable boot @ Walmart or Kmart for a third of the price. I should have returned them as soon as I realized they weren't made in the U.S.A., but I was in a pinch. What a mistake!

We are saddened to hear you are not pleased with your boots. We use a full-grain leather upper on this normally well received style. Polish may be applied to cover the scuffs.

Dependable Work Boots

I bought these in winter of 2013, and these have lasted me through almost 3 years of 4-5 days a week of wear. These are the best work boots I have ever had, and I will definitely buy another pair when these finally wear out. So far the only repair I have had to do is take the boot to a cobbler for a small separation of the upper and sole. Overall, this is a great pair of work boots.

So Far, So Good

Right now I am switching between two pair--and both do what Georgia says they will. They are waterproof--as far as leather boots can be--comfortable, and well made; also, they look good. The only thing is that the first pair I got has a wider sole and more generous cut--both pair are the same size, and same black, low-heel waterproof model--so I am wondering which is closer to the Georgia spec., or if that spec. has changed. I can't really say one pair is better than the other; the wider sole/looser cut are good in one way, the other ones are good in another way--so I guess I will find out which one I should expect to get when I buy the 3d pair!

Bought a pair 3 years ago, they are no longer water resistant but take a while for my socks to get wet. I clean and oil them weekly and show minor surface cracking around the sides next to the first laces. The upper part of the soles have recently started to crack. Don't know if the cracking will prematurely wear the lower sole but nothing yet. I would love a non steel shank version of this bit for woodland firefighting. Overall a great boot!
