Maui Jim Cruzem Rectangular Sunglasses

I've been a fan of Maui Jim for over 20 years. It was time for a refresh. These are fabulous, glamourous, and make everything look crystal clear.

Not only beautiful but great eye protection from the Florida sun.

Huge fan of Maui Jim’s. Love the look and lenses but unfortunately they were too big on my face. Had to send them back. Found a pair of Wapio Valley (New) and love them!

Love these sunglasses. I needed the correction for reading and they work great. The glasses are so comfortable you can wear them all day.

They are meh at best. They fall off your face and head all the time. No issue like this with other brands. Lenses seem nice. Not sure they are worth the cost. A bit overhyped in my opinion.

They’re small for my head, that’s my fault. The quality is pretty poor. The wiggle room on the stems seem problematic. Time will tell how they’ll hold up. So far, not impressed. I do love the lenses though.

The sunglasses are very nice. So were the previous pair I had.

I always look like I am on a permanent.vacation wearing my Maui Jim’s…they are the only sunglasses I will buy…faithful customer for 5 years.

I have bought a lot of Maui Jim’s over the years and I have seen a decline in quality of the frames. I had a pair of the matte black and the frames were great. I just unpacked the blue frames and they feel flimsy and loose. I don’t know what happened between a few months but these are pretty bad.

I’ve owned at least eight pairs of Maui Jims and will preach MJ as the best ocean/beach lens option. I’ve tried Oakley and Maui Jim is definitely superior. I loved the Cruzem at first. Nice fit, light weight and usual MJ lens crispness. However, the frame and lens’s seem to lack the quality of my other pairs (my MJ Five Caves I think are close to 10 years old and still in fairly good condition). While traveling, I had them in the case (which has its own pros (collapsible) and cons (not particularly rigid)) and the frames got pretty bent up. Not a big deal, I guess they can be adjusted, but still kinda a pain. Later on the same trip both lenses got cracked while my bag was stowed. I’m hoping this isn’t a sign of quality going down as Maui Jims have been my go to since I’ve been making enough money to even afford decent shades 😆

I am a long time Maui Jim addict. I bought my first pair 18 years ago and currently own 11 pair. I'm very particular about the wear and care of my sunglasses, take care of your investment and it will last a long time. I bought these 31 May 2024. When they are not on my face they are in the case. Just from ~9 days of wear (I have 11, rotate with outfit/activity) these are already showing an issue with the hinge. They now sit on my face a bit crooked. This is unfortunate because I really love the look. This is the first pair that seem to be cheaply/poorly made. I love Maui shades so, I hope this isn't a sign of the quality of products to come. I want to continue purchasing the shades that proven over time to be the best in the industry.

Love the look! These are my first pair and I was expecting great things. Unfortunately, the scratch resistance isn’t as expected. I purchased mine in March of 2024 and I already have specs of the lenses that have chipped off, in three places to be exact. Two on the outer lens and one on the inner. The rep in the store demonstrated rubbing his car key on his Maui Jim lens and it didn’t make a single mark but my lenses have chips. To me, these just aren’t worth the hefty price tag.

Purchased my Cruzum’s in May, unfortunately a lens cracked 3 weeks later. Started the repair order form and found that Maui Jim HAS to replace both lenses when only 1 lens is cracked, seems a little overkill as well as more $$$. Moral of the story, don’t crack a lens. On a positive note I purchased a pair of Hoku’s in 2011 and never had an issue other than signs of age.

I love Maui Jim's. These are my second pair of Maui Jim sunglasses my first pair I've had for over 12 years and only had to get fixed once because I drop them. However these particular style of sunglasses has a very weak hinge I usually wear my sunglasses with a tether and if they are hanging by a tether around your neck even the slightest bump into something or someone gives you a hug. They tend to bend I've had these sunglasses already fixed once and now they're bent again to the point where they are really crooked and I'll have to send them back again I wish they put a sturdier hinge on these sunglasses. I really want to like them, but after paying this much money for sunglasses and then sending them back multiple times not really sure if it's worth it.

I've never owned any Maui Jims before. I received these as a gift from my Co in December. I was not present to select in person, I had to select the style online. I selected the Cruzem, Black glossy Grey lens, because of the description that they fit most faces. They are larger than I expected. I've never had such large sunglasses before, but they look ok on my face, so the description was right about that. I will begin by saying that the quality of the lens is very good. The lens is crystal clear and the polarization works. What I found a little strange is that the mid section of the lens is lighter than the top and bottom which are darker. I don't know if they all do this. My eyes are very sensitive to light, so I wish the mid was darker too. They are not as dark as I normally get. Now for the bad. The lens isn't true Grey - they actually have a slight brownish tint to them, which I don't like. They make all white things and concrete floor a bit warm. Looking at my cell phone, white pages are warm brownish. I have tried to wear them while driving several times, but wind up putting on my cheap pair after a couple of minutes. I wore them for the 1st time on a 30-min walk, but I just don't like the warm brown tint in them. I don't know if all Maui Jim Grey lenses are like this, or just this pair - I have nothing to compare them to. I'm really disappointed though because other than my 30 minute walk, I've never worn them. If the lens was a true grey, I probably would have been very happy with these glasses and given a 4-5 stars.

Squeaky hinges, any local Sunglass shop recommendations to fix or ship a new one?

Really lover these glasses. The styling is excellent, and the lenses are amazing. very comfortable to wear, even for a long period. One minor complaint , that I have seen in previous reviews is that they can slip down the bridge of the nose a little bit, even with the rubber pads that are integrated into the frame.

Absolutely love my cruzem blue Maui Jim polarized sunglasses. Super comfortable and great vision coverage! Only dislike is one of the arm screws keeps coming lose. Overall I love em!
