About the Book

"Bonnie Brinks and her all-woman band, The Mermaids, are the pride of Moonlight Harbor. They're the house band at The Drunken Sailor, and that's just the right amount of fame for Bonnie. A lifetime ago, she went to Nashville to make it big, but she returned home with a broken heart and broken dreams. Now she's got a comfortable life and a brilliant daughter, Avril, who plays for The Mermaids alongside Bonnie and Bonnie's mother, Loretta. Avril has big dreams of her own. Her life in Moonlight Harbor is good--she loves singing and playing guitar with The Mermaids, and she has the sweetest, most loyal boyfriend a girl could ask for--but it all feels so...small. She can't help wondering if there's something more out there for her. And she doesn't understand why her mom won't support her going to Nashville to find out. Meanwhile, Bonnie threw in the towel on her love life long ago, but Loretta sure hasn't. She's determined to be swept off her feet, and she wants the same for her daughter. When the hunky new owner of The Drunken Sailor turns the tables on the band and Avril announces she's leaving Moonlight Harbor, Bonnie's comfortable life seems to be drifting away. Will these three generations of Mermaids find their happy endings on the Washington coast? Or will the change in the winds leave them all shipwrecked?"--

USA TODAY bestselling author Sheila Roberts takes readers back to Moonlight Harbor with a story of music, hopes, dreams and family, brimming with Sheila's trademark humor and heart.

Bonnie Brinks and her all-woman band, The Mermaids, are the pride of Moonlight Harbor.

Or will the change in the winds leave them all shipwrecked?

The Finale of the Moonlight Harbor Series is Perfection!

I've enjoyed every book in Sheila Roberts' Moonlight Harbor series, and Mermaid Beach does not disappoint. Sheila's books have made me laugh, cry, and fall in love all at once. Her characters are relatable because they go through the same emotions that we do. The musical nods in the book (particularly since I have a musician hubby) were on point, and the scenes set in Moonlight Harbor and Nashville helped to create a sense of authenticity in the characters' experiences. Sheila's multi-generation family dynamics are realistic and relatable with each of their challenges, as well as their bond, the complexity of their relationships, and the growth of each character as she steps out of her comfort zone and finds love and happiness. This (sadly) represents Moonlight Harbor's final book of the series - characters from the earlier books make cameo appearances in Mermaid Beach. But fear not! If you haven't read the earlier books, you can still enjoy this book without having read any of the others. Bottom line: If you enjoy heartwarming stories about women chasing their dreams, Mermaid Beach is definitely a book for you.

Mermaid Beach (Moonlight Harbor Series) This is the last book in the Moonlight Harbor Series and the saying “saving the last for the best” is very true with this novel. Most of the characters are the same as throughout the series but there are a few new additions. J.J., Colton, Jimmy, and Rance just to name a few but there are still more new characters that make this story so great. The story contains, love, betrayal, friendships and lots of great music. The story is not all set in Moonlight Harbor and at the Drunken Sailor bar. Nashville plays a large part in this novel. Sheila Roberts has a gift for writing the best novels whether they are stand alone or an entire series. Honestly, I just can’t read enough of her books. Please read the book and have the time of your life in the story plot.

It was fun to catch up with these characters and meet some new ones in Sheila Robert’s latest “beach read”. This delightful story centers around a family of three, although there are added characters to fill in the chinks. The Mermaids are a music band comprised of Loretta, her daughter Bonnie, and Bonnie’s daughter Avril. Gina, although not family, is also in the band. They play on the weekends at a pub called “The Drunken Sailor” and draw a huge crowd. Bonnie and Avril are song writers with Avril aspiring to move to Nashville. Included are bits of drama, lots of fun, romance, and cute song lyrics. Bonnie when near a “hot” man has her hormones “talking” to her, which I thought was hilarious. Certain situations caused some characters to sing a line from popular songs that I easily recognized. Fun stuff! The local ice cream parlor, Good Times, features an ice cream flavor, “deer poop” that you just have to try, yum!! I never miss a book by Sheila Roberts. She always writes a fun, reality distracting story that keeps me engaged and chuckling all along. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise.
