Women's Tie-Waist Midi A-Line Denim Dress - Universal Thread™ Indigo

I'm in between 5'4" and 5'5" tending towards apple shaped. The dress I purchased is size 17 and I really like it. The length is upper ankle, not low enough to trip on, but low enough to keep my legs nicely covered. The side pockets are ample. The seam at the top of the skirt has a nice placement and shape. The fabric is midweight to heavy and is just perfect in the upper midwest - at least during Winter and early Spring. It might actually be uncomfortably warm in Summer. I'll find out in a few months.... I've been layering it over top a t-shirt dress so that there are light weight sleeves coming out the armholes, so I don't know if there is a modesty problem with the armholes. (It works nicely as a jumper.) Mine's been through the wash a few times now, and the only part that wrinkled and could use ironing is the belt, the rest did not need it. I actually think the belt is kind of weird, and the belt loops too high, which is why I rate it 4 starts instead of 5. Still a very sweet dress, and if I could find it in another shade (that I like), I'd buy a second one. Thank you, Target!

Got size 2 in the store, it’s so cute, makes the waist seem very tiny with the belt and I love the A line skirt and thick hem. I wish it came in a 0 as the top is a bit too roomy, I am a bra size 34 A

Loved the material and the way the top fit, however the hemline line where the skirt a lines hits weird…

The quality is great, but it was not the standard size…I returned and had to order 2 sizes up.

Cute but if your curvy it'll make your hips POP.

I'm confused as to why the brand states "Universal Thread?" When it was originally designed by Jenee Naylor Collection (African-American) designer that Target is or was carrying in their stores. Is this no longer the case? If so I would like to return this item.

The pockets are awesome. The cut of the arms is nice. The material feels quality and it will last. I love how this dress looks on the rack. But the high hip seam is meant for someone with a naturally long torso.

Nice denim dress fits well in waist but not for big bust, runs small in bust area.

How can something that looks so darling be so horrible? I don't even know where to start! The fabric is awful- the heaviest denim ever! Think winter jacket denim. Thr cut? Ew! What ia up with the weird seam and the high belt? The fit is terrible! The way it hangs is so unflattering! The length hits horrible! Skip this one!!

I bought a size 8 (normal size) everything fits perfect but Too tight in the chest area, I had to leave 2 bottons undone. Returning for a size 10 but I’m scared it will be loose everywhere else.

I saw this dress in the store and fell in love with it. Normally with this brand I need a size larger than what I wear in other brands, so I sized up. It wouldn’t even button, so I had to go up another size. This dress is a heavy denim. On me, after sizing up, it just looked frumpy & like I was a kid dressing in my mom’s clothes. I’m 5’2”, so I would imagine on someone taller it might work. This dress is a no for me, and I wish Target would figure out their sizing.

I want to love this so much but undecided. The size 6 fit my hips best but it’s too tight on the bust. I went up to an 8 and it fits my bust but a bit big in the hips. I am trying to lose weight so maybe hoping I can fit in the 6 soon.

Love the dress super cute! Recommending sizing up at least two sizes run super small. I’m typically at 6 or 8 but had to get a 10 that’s absolutely no stretch very heavy denim good quality just have the size up

I am 5’7” and my measurements are currently 37/31/42.5. Size 10 in this dress fit me perfectly. I am usually a size M/8 in Target clothes lately. The arm holes stick out a little bit on the front, but nothing shows and I think the overall effect is very cute/vintagey. The hem hits mid calf for me. I would say this dress runs maybe half a size small according to the size chart. There is no stretch. If you’re short or have a short torso the bodice may be too long and make it uncomfortable to sit. I took off one star for a small stitching defect on my dress and the armhole weirdness. I am excited to wear this with heeled sandals in the spring.

This dress is very well made. The denim is heavy, but not too much. I did go up a size to get the correct fit. I have been searching for a denim dress that has style, and this is perfect.
