I am also having the issue that the telescopic bit shank will not separate from the handle making it impossible to fit in the case. If there is a solution to this, I would love to hear it. Thanks.

The bit that prevents the screwdriver from fitting in the case will not come out. It will telescope back and forth, but when I try to remove it from the screwdriver it absolutely will not budge. I have read of multiple people having this same issue, is there an easy solution?

Please don't sell a product that no longer fits in the included case because you decided that the best solution to people getting bits stuck in the screwdriver is to make the bit driver not removable. This makes absolutely no sense other than to sell existing inventory, even if Craftsman knows the product is bad.

I purchased this set because I associate quality with this brand. Unfortunately, upon receiving my set today and attempting to remove the extender in order to put the ratchet screwdriver handle into the case, I found it to be an impossible task; the handle WILL NOT fit into the case. This is disappointing. I would greatly appreciate assistance with my issue, as soon as possible.

Like others I bought this loving the idea of extension that can also be removed. Like others I tried to pull the extension out to no avail. After trying a bit too hard, the handle came apart from the rachet mechanism and I was able to inspect the inner tip of the extension. Guess what - it has a circlip that blocks it from being pulled out! There is one 2 year old review on youtube where the shaft is removable; but then on the one from a year ago it's already not. My guess is that originally they have indeed made the extension shaft removable but after a couple of guys tried to use short bits and dropped them inside the handle, they have made the shaft fixed but didn't update the case design - it's still to short for the tool with the shaft and has a set of loops to store the shaft separately as pictured on this website. Not cool for a company like Craftsman, considering people complain about this for years. Eventually I decided to remove the circlip hence making the extension shaft removable. I hope one day we can hear from the product designer about this issues.

as others have pointed out, the screw driver doesn't fit in case.

Overall I like the screw set. However no matter how much I and my friends try to remove the shaft, it will not come out. Therefore the screwdriver handle does not fit in the case. Really annoying and ridiculous. I like the set enough to recommend it but I would like to have a reply from you as to how to remove the shaft. And if it can’t be done, I would like you to replace the set with a functioning one. I got this as a Christmas gift so I wasn’t able to return it.

Could someone who has stored the handle in the case please take a picture and post so I can see how it is done.

I received my tool today and used it right of way. Worked well. Excellent tool to keep in kitchen drawer for small quick jobs. Now reference to all the post regarding the tool not fitting in the case. It actually does. Here is the secret.Place the driver in the case with the tip up. Zip the case up to the tip and just press down on the driver tip and finish off closing the zipper.

Doesn't fit in case! Everything was good until I got to the case. There is a spot in the case that appears made to hold the extendable part of the tool, but it cannot be removed and instead sticks out about 2"! Unsure if this case was designed for a different tool or nobody paid any attention to details when they put this together. The zipped closed configuration leaves a big gap any of the bits could fall out of, and since the extending part does not come off to store, it sticks out and looks ridiculous. Very disappointed.

The extensive bits provided are perfect for the majority of jobs. Time will tell as to how it holds up. Contrary to other reviewers, the screwdriver DOES fit in the case!

I bought the kit a few months ago. It has an extendable magnetic tip, but when collapsed it doesn't fit in case and the extension is unable to be removed! It has another extendable magnetic but can not add to handle because the other extension is not removable. It has a spot to put the extension but again it doesn't come out.

Was given this screwdriver set for Christmas 2020. And, like all things 2020... it sucks. Craftsman made it so the top part of the screwdriver does not come off and it sticks out the end of the case. Look at the picture! Clearly the screwdriver does not fit in the case. Unbelievably poor quality control. The ratcheting mechanism in the screwdriver is not smooth and quality overall is lacking. Cheap foreign junk, made by a once great tool manufacture.

Once a drill bit gets pushed in, it’s gone forever. I’ve wasted hours researching this and concluded it’s not just me — this is just so poorly designed that you’ll lose your bits on the regular.

I bought this item 4 or so months ago and worked great at first. But now after months I have found two major flaws. #1 the extension rod must be used every time otherwise if a bit it placed into the tool it falls right to the base. I spent an entire weekend trying to get it out before I was able to grab it with needle nose pliers. #2 Every time I use it to screw anything in and apply the lightest pressure the rod gets stuck and I have to use a pair of pliers to manually force the release to remove the rod.

Like many of the other negative reviews on here, the bit falls right through into the handle if you try to use them without the metal extender. Of course the bit that’s stuck is the one that I need for the project I purchased this for!!! I used plyers, tweezers, magnets. It’s lost for ever. I would not recommend this screwdriver at all!

I really was hoping this was going to be a good screwdriver, but I come to realize that the bits fall right into the handle part and you can not get them out. Very disappointed.
