Emerald Electric Single Burner

I was very skeptical about getting one due to having small children; however, my friend recommended this product, and I am thrilled that she did. I use it to maintain food hot on the table, such as soups and hot chocolate. It is a complete win with my family. This prevents me from having to get up multiple times to reheat the items. The size is just perfect for a small storage area. The design is classic yet straightforward, another big plus that attracted me to it. I highly recommend it its a time saver.

Often I have to have a burner handy during the brewing process so this is nice to have in the garage rather than having to go into the kitchen. The knob is easy to turn and the burner heats up quickly. This doesn't take up much room, so it is also easy to store. Happy to have this little appliance!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received this and it is exactly what I needed. Works just like a normal stove. My stove has sensor technology which I hate the most being a cooking lover not able to cook so many stuff like fry or crepes etc. But then after receiving this, the problem is solved. It is small and handy, I placed it my garage for all the fry stuff so that not to create smoke in the kitchen and no need to worry about the smoke detector. It is fast to heat up and stay heated , very easy to adjust for simmering. Heat is enough to fry, boil an egg or pasta. It's small and compact and looks well made and it actually takes very less space. I have little doubts on cleaning but I think i will figure it out. Very easy to carry if ur camping and u want to cook some eggs then you just found wat you need right here.

I have cooked several things on it so far and it has worked flawlessly! Hot sausage, chili, boiled water, sauerkraut and kielbasa ! We eat very well at work!

It cooks nice and evenly and doesn't take up much space at all. This burner is also great for camping. I like having it on hand to keep dishes warm as well if I'm having company over and want to keep a dip or spread warm.

It's a very sleek design and simple to use. The only problem is that it doesn't get hot enough to cook larger meals. I could not even get a large pot of water to boil. It's great for smaller dishes and small meals but not good for a family size portion.

To all those that don't like the warm up time- this is a hot plate, not a full-on kitchen range. In order to get that kind of performance, you need way more electricity than this appliance uses. The sealed burners seem to retain heat to produce a more even temperature. The "high, medium, low" settings allow for selecting in-between temperatures as needed. I have cooked many meals on it and I would recommend it.

It's great for dorms,offices,small kitchens,etc so many places where this can be used. It performed great and is extremely easy to use. I'm getting one to keep on my trunk so I can have it for traveling. Just really nice to have. Great for emergency car or camping.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive this in today’s mail. Only prep was to heat on high for 3 minutes. Setting from 1 to 5. Heats up super fast and cools down fast. It is about 8”x8”. The burner itself it almost 6” round. Used my med size frying pan on it tonight to make popcorn. Turned out perfect! Takes up very little space and heats up fast. Will be used often at my house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great buy!! To my surprise, it cooks just as well as my gas stove does.. The Only thing that, I'd recommend is that you let it pre-heat, about 5 min. But other than that, the cooking time and quality, is just as good as a stove.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this would be a great option for camping or an emergency situation. The setup is very simple; it comes with 4 rubber feet that you have to put on the bottom before use but then it is just plug it in and turn it on. It does have a slight smell the first time you turn it on but that goes away after a little while. The burner on it is 5 ½ inches, so you should use pans close to that size. As long as you have a plug to use you could probably cook most anything as long as it fits in your pot. My one complaint, the cooking area is small so you are limited to a small pan but if you are just one or two people it wouldn’t be too difficult to cook meals with, for a family it would take more time but in a situation with no other method for cooking this could work. The coil doesn’t come off so cleaning anything that spills over is difficult. I LOVE how quickly this cools down after use though. Within 5 minutes of turning it off I was able to put it away. I did a few tests with it to really get a comparison to a standard stove. I timed how long it took to boil water. I used the same pot, same amount of water, at the same starting temperature. I did the stove first then the burner. The burner only took 2 minutes longer to reach a rolling boil compared to a standard stove. I also used it to cook rice. I chose rice because you need to set it to a low temperature for an extended time and it needs to simmer but not boil. While cooking the rice I set it to 1 and it was still boiling the water, I had to stay close to it to keep adjusting the heat to find the right temperature for a simmer (between 0 and 1). It still cooked the rice within the suggested time.

I don't have a lot of counter space so I found this burner to be perfect in the small space. I first used it to make pasta. I found that it heated evenly but slowly. I then used it to make scrambled eggs and found that the eggs cooked evenly. I was able to wipe off the spill easily after it cooled down. I found this to be a nifty single burner stove. I want to have a couple more on hand especially coming into the holiday season.

It's easy to clean and heats up fast. I like that you can use it indoors or outdoors.
