Kwikset 400P-S Polo Single Cylinder Keyed Entry Lever Set - Nickel

One of the hardest for no reason door knobs I have ever attempted to put on. The threads on the screw broke and of course damaged the threads on the female end. Don't know how that was suppose to keep my place safe when it couldn't even stay together during installation. Do not recommend this product.

A step was missed in the manufacturing process. I could not use the inside portion of the knob because there were no holes to pass the screws through. I had to use the old one that I was replacing.

Bought this yesterday spent an hour fussing with it. A replacement normally takes 15 minutes at most. The plate that goes on the door to finish around the pin is too tight. The p Strike pin would not travel freely when it was handheld and forget it if you screwed it on. Goodness people what happened to quality control. I’m going to have to file down the inside edges. This should not happen with a doorknob.

I bought a Smart-Keyed Knob and Deadbolt combo pack for the door from my garage into the house. The deadbolt installed like all of the other locks in my house with the key being inserted "teeth up" to lock/unlock. Because of the way the door swings, the keyed knob MUST be installed with the key being inserted "teeth down" to lock/unlock. I just read that the orientation of the locking mechanism in the keyed knob CANNOT be changed to match the deadbolt orientation Very POOR design.

I bought this knob about 3 years ago. It was extremely easy to install as well as re-key! I couldn't be happier

The lock button is not correctly oriented, it is vertical when locked but should be horizontal. It is not worth the effort to return and it is impossible to tell if a replacement would be correct with destroying the packaging. In the future I will purchase another brand.

One afternoon I cam home from work only to find that someone had tried to break into my apartment. The door knob had been literally crushed with a pair of channelock pliers to gain entry , but was foiled by the Kwikset security features that are installed in every Kwikset door knob.. I tell you, I was pretty impressed with Kwikset after that and I feel if it had been any other brand door knob, that attempted break in might not have been stopped. This is a very affordable knob that carries the security of any overpriced knob on the market .

I purchased this keyed entry knob and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to install. I especially liked that the latch could be adjusted to center into the existing door hole just by moving a pin. The directions were easy to follow. I also found I could adjust the strike tab so that the latch bolt is held more securely. No more loose door once it is closed!
