Thought the pictures are beautiful but not really keen on the storyline either for my little ones the repetitive talk of do you want to fight was a little over done. Also the print seemed small. Love other Eric Carl books, this one is ok?

This is my favorite Eric Carle book and is very underrated - you don't often times find it on the shelves. I loved reading this book to my children. Some reviewers mentioned the repetitiveness with the ladybug asking each animal if they want to fight. I think that's the fun of it! You get to use fun voices and change up the ladybug's attitude each time she asks the question! My son loved the way I read this book to him, and it's one I always look for to give to new parents.

This is one of my favorite children's books. I frequently give it as a gift to new parents. I find that kids love the animals and the pictures. It is an Eric Carle classic. I am not concerned by the "fighting" aspect of the story line.

Beautiful pictures. Disappointing storyline. Don't want to repeat words "do you want to fight?" 15x regardless of moral at end of story.

I guess I don't get the purpose of this book, other than, don't pick on anything bigger than you. I don't like the repetitiveness of this book because it's about fighting. I understand that the "grouchy ladybug" is a bully and finally gives into being nice at the end, but I really disliked this book. My daughter seemed to like it though - I think she just liked the artwork.
