Q&A(10)

Q: Can this product be used for multiple children in the household? Or is it recommended that each child have their own?

submitted by RScott - 7 years ago
  • A: I wouldn't recommend multiple siblings using the same one, especially in winter during the cold and flu season. The clear plastic applicator that you insert into your mouth and move back and forth across the tooth - gum line snaps in and out for easy replacement. BUT I don't see how a parent could mark each child's applicator for easy identifying. I highly recommend this Waterpic flosser for kids (age 8 and older) or adults.

  • A: Both of my daughters use them. Well...if siblings, I am sure they don't have a problem sharing it.

Q: I was thinking about buying this, I'm NOT a kid. What I want to know is this, this WILL NOT leak after I put water in it, will it?

submitted by Margaret - 8 years ago
  • A: I bought this for myself and not kids. It has not leaked on me yet. I like the small compact size of it.

  • A: If you leave water in it after you use it, it will leak. My advice is to make sure you empty the holding container when you are done. Other than that this is a nice water pik. We got it for my son's braces and it worked great!

Q: What age is the youngest age that could use this?

submitted by Targetmom - 4 months ago
  • A: Hello Tagetmom - The Water Flosser for Kids by Waterpik is typically recommended for children ages 6 and up. However, it's important to ensure that the child is capable of using the device properly and safely. Supervision by a parent or guardian is recommended to ensure correct use and to help the child develop good oral hygiene habits. If you have any concerns or specific questions regarding your child's oral health, it's always a good idea to consult with a pediatric dentist.

Q: Is there anything different between this one and the adult one besides the design? Size of the base doesn't concern me, I'm more wondering if the size of the piece for your mouth is different.

submitted by SarahB - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello SarahB - The WP-260 Kids flosser is a smaller version of our counter top units and can be used for children ages 6+. We offer a wide range of options that will provide you with the same highly effective water flossing experience you would expect. Here is a link to a tool that will help you find the perfect fit for you: https://www.waterpik.com/oral-health/product-selector/.

Q: Does this hurt your gums? Regular waterpik hurts my gums

submitted by Mary - 4 years ago
  • A: Hello Mary - If you have not flossed regularly in the past, it may take some time for your gums to get used to it. We recommend that you start on the lowest pressure setting that is most comfortable for you. You can adjust the pressure gradually as your gums become stronger. However, if pain persists, we recommend speaking with a dental professional.
