Q: Large bottle for just 15 ml a day. How important is the 48 hour rule?

  • A: You're also free to chug whatever is left in the bottle, Park.

  • A: Once a bottle of Pedialyte is opened, bacteria can potentially come into contact with the product. Over time, the bacterial load can become significant. That’s why we recommend using it within 48 hours of opening. -The Pedialyte Team

Q: Can it be given to 5 motnhs infant?

submitted by Debasis - 7 years ago
  • A: Our two month old was given this in the hospital before surgery, so I assume it would be fine for 5 month old.

  • A: correct. there is plenty of reputable info that infants can be fed Pedialyte. if they are throwing up milk due to virus or bacteria, they need fluids. I'd buy unflavored. call pediatrician for dosing
