Q: Are these non-flammable?
A: Not that I know of? Been used to store charity items that are stored for a year or more. Alot are out in our storage shed so I know they are fine in the heat and cold.
submitted byShereelynn - 7 years agoA: Thanks for your question. Our products are not fire rated because they will melt and burn in a fire. We do not use fire retardant in our products. The materials used for our products are polypropylene or polyethylene plastic. If you check with your local fire department, they may be able to give you a rating on this material.

Q: Do you know how much these weigh in case I want to go to the store and buy a few to take on the bus?

submitted byYourSteriliteTeam - 7 years agoBrand expertA: They weigh about 3pnds without the lid. But i think you would be able to carry 2 comfortable on the bus if you put the lids inside. I carried 5 stacked and they were not too heavy.

Q: Are these containers considered air tight?
A: Hi LS! The 18 Gal. Storage Tote is not waterproof, air tight or bug proof, but lid snaps tight and will keep the cover securely fastened to the base to keep contents protected. We hope this information helps!

Q: Is it Safe to grow food in?
A: Hello, the Room Essentials 18 Gal Tote was made out of high quality FDA food safe grade plastics that are non-toxic. These plastics do not contain PVC's, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bishphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals. Nor do we use them in the manufacturing process of our items.

Q: the product in the image is brown but the name says gray so which color is the item exactly?

Q: How much weight can each tote hold and how many totes can I stack? Specifically, if I have 50 pounds of items in each of three totes can I stack them one on top of the other?
A: Hi J, the Room Essentials 18 Gal. Tote is made of polypropylene, and are designed for general household storage. Most household storage purposes do not require suggested weight limitations. Our products have not been specifically tested for various weight potential, and we suggest consumers not overload them or stack more than three high. This could cause distortion or eventual damage. When storing items away, use good judgment and be mindful of the weight in each tote and place the heaviest tote on the bottom.
