It is real wood. The finish was ok. There is minor imperfections that could be eliminated with better quality control. overall the quality is dictated by the price which is reasonable. The instructions need to be redone to make assembly easier.

Very nice piece of furniture very pleased. Needed some extra storage for the kitchen and this looks beautiful, works perfect as a buffet type, easy to clean under. I will say it smelled for a couple of days of varnish but after that it went away. Love it, very happy, it was just what I was looking for.

This took forever to assemble. Boards were warped, tolerances inconsistent and sometimes too tight to work with sanding or hammering, pilot holes missing for back panels, miss aligned parts, and instructions that had errors in the illustrations. Looks OK when finished.
