There are other white distressed plates, but these have that authentic French look. These are heavy-weight, and the design is high-relief. Look at the details of the design -- it looks rubbed and gray. Very elegant! The dishes (4) came packed well -- no damage in shipping. They will be lovely on the dinner table. Recommend!
