Liberty 1.0 Mid Century Modern Nightstand - Manhattan Comfort

The boards are numbered to put together but the numbers are permanently stamped on the boards and are on the front where you can see them. Also, one of the wheels on the drawer was broken. I bought two and both have the same issue.

Unfortunately I feel that I “wasted” my money purchasing this nightstand. The instructions were pictures only, which was mostly helpful, but could definitely use actual worded instructions. When assembling, the pieces do not fit correctly. The drawer is not aligned and the bottom of the drawer slides underneath letting items fall through. I’ve had this product for about 6-7 months and am moving next week. I will not be bringing this to my new place.

Bought this for my daughter at her request. Just save yourself the headache and find something else. The screws were stripped, a wooden dowel was broken upon arrival, it was just awful. I am so disappointed this item is even being sold. It’s that bad.

Not stable and cheap.

These are absolutely garbage to be honest. Nothing aligns right, and it’s no user error it’s genuinely the way that the pieces are made. It’s not sturdy, and the legs are almost impossible to screw in. Literally needed to drilled longer holes in the legs myself so I could screw them on. Please don’t waste your time or money. Built one and left the other in the box. Will be retuneing

Assembly is a complete nightmare, materials are cheap looking, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

The instructions are clear, but the holes pre-drilled into the legs match the angle of the legs, which means they can’t sit flush against the bottom of the cabinet. If the holes drilled into the cabinet itself were also angled, it might work, but it simply doesn’t fit together. They also could have drilled the holes in the legs at the angle Taft matches the cabinet bottom. There’s so many ways this could have worked well. This is step #1 of the instructions! Super frustrating. I’ve had to order replacement legs, that are drilled properly. Hopefully I don’t have the issues with the drawer that others have reported.

Wish I would have read more reviews first! This nightstand is horrible. Difficult to put together (I don’t understand the people who said it was “easy”. I really don’t!) I knew it was not high end, but it looks awful. I bought 2. Ugh. I won’t even open the other box. It’s going back.

So, this is super cute in all the photos BUT, the directions are inaccurate. I tried to assemble it myself and it was perfect but the drawer didn't fit correctly. I figured it was me and checked the directions. I thought I did it right but again, the drawer didn't fit within the inset for the drawer, as shown in the photo. SO, I bought another one and had my contractor, who has assembled ALL of my furniture and hundreds of other things for others do it with the SAME RESULT! After reading the reviews here, the stupid drawer DOES NOT FIT INTO THE DRAWER CABINET. Moronic!! Find another nightstand from a different brand other than Manhattan Comfort. I found the legs to be very difficult to screw on and needed my boyfriend’s assistance. The directions were easy and straight forward. The material was cheap and crumbled in several spots when I tapped the small wooden pegs in place. The surfaces scratched very easily during assembly. The overall look of the nightstand is nice but I don’t feel that it was money well spent and I don’t think that it will last long.

I was hesitant to order this table because of all the negative reviews, but I liked it so much I ordered it anyway. My husband and I found assembly to be a lot easier than expected. All the pieces were marked, and all the holes lined up. We did have one problem that we had to fix. We attached the shelf so it was flush with the front sides, which turned out to be wrong because the drawer rests against the shelf, and if the shelf is flush, then the drawer sticks out. So, we turned the shelf around so it was recessed from the sides in the front, and the drawer fit in the recessed area perfectly. We decided not to attach the back as you can see in the picture. There's really no reason to attach it. You're supposed to hammer it on with the supplied nails, but there were no starter holes and we were concerned that the nails may split the wood of the sides. Turns out, it looks great without the back, and it's still sturdy. As another reviewer stated, you should use an electric screwdriver to attach the legs which makes the job a lot easier. I would order this again.

Disappointed with the color!! the wood was way too dark and not like the picture. Unfortunately my pup got to the legs and took a few chews so couldn’t return it.

Horrible piece of trash. Do not purchase this. The pieces are ill-fitting and poorly put together.

I’ve had this item for about a year and a half and while it was easy to assemble, easy to clean and very cute, the toxic smells coming off of this right next to where I sleep is worrisome to say the least. I thought the “new toxic furniture smell” would dissipate within a few weeks but it’s just as strong as ever. Please reconsider purchasing if you care about the long term health of yourself and loved ones and look for low VOC.

I was nervous because of the many negative reviews however, I am glad I ordered this item. I’m not the most handy woman, but I just followed the instructions and took my time and it came out great. It’s obviously not an expensive piece so it’s not going to be high quality, but for the value I think it looks great. It’s sturdy once assembled and I didn’t have any trouble with the drawer. Honestly I’m not sure why so many people had an issue putting this item together, makes me think something is wrong with them and not the item if even I could do it haha.

The directions were decent as long as you read them well and don't skip any steps. The overall quality is what I expect for the price. The veneer is not what would be on a higher end night stand. You do need a power screwdriver to assemble it. The pilot hole in the legs is perfect so that the screw will grip into the wood well but would be very difficult to install the screw without a power screwdriver. The instructions did not call for it but I used a little(drop) wood glue in each of the dowel holes. I did have an issue with the back panels not covering the entire height of the cabinet. I rotated them 90 deg so that the seam when vertical and they fit perfect. I also had a little trouble with the front drawer box cam lock. It seems like the location should be slightly closer to the front edge of the drawer box side so that the cam could catch the head of the screw. With adding glue to each wood dowel I feel confident that the drawer will stay together without these cam's being used. Overall it went together quickly and we are very happy with it. If I want very good quality then buy something more expensive. If you want a budget night stand then this one is great.

Listen to the people who said it's impossible to assemble because given the instructions, tools, and parts it is impossible to assemble. We had to track down a power drill to try and assemble the legs into the base. Doing it by had the way the instructions recommend isn't possible unless you're pop-eye the sailor man on a spinach high. Then there's no instructions for how to attach the drawer onto the tracks. Also the ball bearings fell out of one the moment we opened it. It's not worth the price or time or energy.

I loved the style of these nightstands but unfortunately once put together, the drawer did not fit properly and wouldn’t close all the way.

I bought with high hopes, regardless of all the poor reviews - and I should have just saved myself the trouble! It's very frustrating to spend the time putting it together only for the very last step not to work. The drawer slides into the cabinet, but it does not fit right like the photo shows. There is a gap on the side letting light through making it obvious its not right and the drawer doesn't pull out very smoothly. It looks cheap the way it fits, but would look so great if it did! I might return these if I am able.
