Rusts out quickly even covered

Good: Unit works perfect for a small propane grill. Bad: Quality is poor. I keep my woodwind smoker and grill box covered on my porch. I use the grill box probably 35-40 times per year. However, the inside has rusted out within 2 years. On year 3 the joints on the back are rusted beyond repair. I've already replaced the cast iron grate as well.
BB30 BBQ accessory & COPS pizza stone

I purchased. BB30 BBQ for my Pro 60 14” stove. After purchase I found that the BBQ would not close completely with the pizza stone inserted in the BBQ. The two tabs that secure the BBQ grate during transport provide an interference with the pizza stone. Without modification of the tabs, these two items are not compatible with one another. The modification was simple for me and I am now happy with my purchase, but not all buyers will have the ability to make them work together. Buyer beware. Camp Chef has been a part of my family for forty years - this is the first issue I have had with three stoves and many accessories.
Grill box: great, but design flaw

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the grill box, and the option to add smoker pellets underneath, and the thermometer. However, I have the expedition 14, and when you open the grill box, it hits the back shield of the stove. So you have to hold it open the whole time. It doesn’t stay open by itself. Which is a bit of a safety hazard and makes cooking a lot more difficult.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The grill box worked perfectly on my Sidekick. The temperature got to 500 degrees quickly and seared the steak on the cast iron grates. Loving my purchase and makes my pellet grill much more versatile.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the grill box. But it has hot and cold spots. You will need to move food around on the grill to get food to come off the grill at the same time
Very good bbq box once you figure it out

Initially I hated this bbq box and I told Camp Chef just that. They tried to be helpful but in the end it was more about figuring out now to make it work for me. It does not work like a regular gas/charcoal grill. Used as is the fat will collect on the slanted bottom and roll to the back then cause non stop flare ups. I tried covering in tin foil but that really created a problem. I was going to junk it then happened to try wood chips in perforated tin foil in the bottom of the box - whoa! huge difference. Make the chip packet the size of the unlouvered section in the bottom and let the start smoking before cooking whatever it is - now you have the convenience of a gas grill and the taste of a wood/charcoal fire. It also minimizes the flare ups until the chips catch fire which isn't a problem. The intensity of the fire will determine how quick the flare up happens and how bad it is. The cast iron grate is heavy duty and very good quality as is the rest of the bbq box. Clean up is a breeze - just pull the grate off, pull the bbq box off the cooktop then go clean out the bottom and dump it out. With the wood packets the bottom doesn't really get too bad. It takes a bit to get familiar with what temps give you the right result on different cuts of meat but I haven't ruined anything yet vs it has turned out a lot of fantastic food. I use the 14" single burner because there is just 2 of us. I sometimes wish for a larger surface (2 burner) but that's a lot of weight and a lot of wasted space so make the single burner work. Liked it so much I now have two cookers, 2 bbq boxes, 2 griddles, carrying cases, covers and two woks to use on them. Very good bbq box after some time to figure it out.
Outstanding addition to our 14inch two burner

Have used for years paired with single griddle plate. It is unlimited what you can cook on it for two people. Steak, Hash brown patties, hamburgers, biscuits for biscuits and gravy, chicken, and pretty much anything that you cook on a regular grill. It is just a little smaller.
Grease Fire

Description says, “instantly vaporizes grease drippings”. Think how that actually works… I think this grilled is a flawed design. The actual grill and hot plate are so close together compared to a regular gas grill. So when you cook anything with a fat content and it drips down it immediately becomes a grease fire. Not a big deal on normal grill, but since there really is no space the flames engulf your food. Also, doesn’t help to close the lid to put out grease fire because too much airflow. If you keep to chicken breast and vegetables works great.

First purchased the SG 24 without attachement and later added the sidekick with bbq box and pizza oven. Well worth the money spent! Connected up easy and the box wokred perfect for steaks and anything else you want to hit with some intense high heat for the best char and marking. Wish I would have done it sooner.

How do you make a transportable barbecue? Just ask the Camp Chef crew, they thought of everything. I own the 14 inch barbecue box . It’s easy to move, just carry it in one piece with large sturdy handle, and locking lid. The infrared system keeps it clean after use, so you don’t get to your vehicle dirty. The whole thing (stove and barbecue box) fits in the trunk of my car . I give it 100 stars!

I purchased this to go on top of my sidekick that is mounted to my SG24. It did arrive promptly but had some slight damage to one of the corners. It does not affect the grill box at all though. So far i love it! I have reverse seared some steaks and pork chops. I will be doing some veggies soon as well as a few other things as well. The perfect complement to a wonderful smoker/grill.

The sidekick/grill box is a must have for steak, pork chop or anything else that needs to be seared. The flat top is a must for bacon, eggs, etc. I appreciate that I can get most things cooked now without heating up the kitchen.

So, let's cut to the meat (pun intended) of this. Yes, it fits the burner like you expect it to. Yes, it heats up fast and is stable in temperature readings. Did it sear my rib eye like I wanted. Absolutely! Am I glad I purchased it? Yes! Would I buy it again? Only if this one dies.
