ear pads are too small and cause lots of pressure on the ears. I just replace the pads today and man, what a difference. They are so much more comfortable to use now.

Had a pair of these m50x for about 10 years now!! Wore them to so many DJ gigs all over the place and love them!! Replaced vinyl padding paddies a couple years ago but now it's time to get a new pair cuz one side of the headphones just stopped working. I mean after 10 years y'all!! Gonna get the exact same babies in white or maybe that turquoise color. I don't leave many reviews but wanted to make sure to thank y'all for continuing to make these. I love the sound quality and they're very comfortable, durable and affordable.

Balance and superb sound quality, the only downside is that the plastic parts looks so fragile.

I just got these in today and I upgraded from the m30xs because I had them for 5-6 years and they finally wore out on me and snapped by the ear. I use them for gaming and music purposes most of the time these are the best audio quality I've ever had and I'm hearing small things in both games and music that I hadn't heard until today just test driving them around and the noise cancelation they have is super nice. These also feel way better built than the m30x headphones from the ears to the headband. I payed the extra money for the white set because it matches the setup and even with the slight upcharge I think they have been the best investment to my setup I have made in a minute. The only issue I had was getting the cords to plug in correctly because of them having a locking mechanism and it was user error that I have worked out through a little bit of fiddling. Will update review if any issues arise or if I become even happier as I haven't tested them with an instrument and an amp yet.
Excellent sound and super dependable!

I use these headphones strictly for my home studio setup mainly due to their dynamic, yet very balanced and crystal clear sound. I use them to record guitar, vocals, and mixing/mastering.I would recommend these to any hobbyist or professional who works with sound for prolonged periods in a somewhat stationary setting. Not so much for everyday on-the-go headphones as you'll be dealing with cables and dongles if intending to listen on any device that does not have an included 3.5mm AUX input. Unbelievable dependable! Very much recommend.

These do sound really nice ESPECIALLY for the price that these sell for. I love the removable cable that you get with these which is a really nice use for me :) The only real issue I have with these is that they do tend to slip off a bit easily, but it's made up for because of the amazing sound quality.
100% Recommend. Make ATH-M50xBL replacement pads!

I bought a pair of the limited edition ATH-M50xBL in 2015. I have mangled, and beaten them more than they deserve. Yet they still work like a champ. Can't see how anyone can complain about build quality. I've dropped these things more than Linus drops components and every time I pick them back up they are perfect. The single one and only complaint that I could make is that I have a limited edition and the material on the padding has worn off and I can't get them replaced in the same color. They've been used pretty much daily for 8 years and still going strong.

I had gotten this way back in July 2019 as a splurg gift to myself for a b-day. They have been with me all this time and the sound quality has not dropped off. Two things that have happened with me for this were that the muffs are shedding their black layer, but that isn't so bad to me. The other was the audio jack got stuck in my phone plug-in jack and the tip broke off, also an easy fix. It is nice that a new cord can be ordered to then be used. The ability to change between a short or long cord is nice. Overall, I am surprised I have not had to order a new pair, so I will keep chugging with them until they probably fall apart.
Overly Fragile

The outer layer over the fabric flakes off QUICK. And they're cheaply constructed at the foldable joints which holds it snug against your ear. For something so expensive, you want it to last. The audio sounds great and I never had any trouble with the sound. They're comfortable enough to sleep with, especially on a plane, but at the risk of snapping those joints.
Vinyl Padding Disintegrating

The over the head padding and the cushions are disintegrating. There are little black dots of the outer layer of the cushioning that flakes off...a lot...all over your neck, ears and clothes and you can't seal it with some type of sealant because then the cushions would stick to your skin. The little flakes are very hard to remove. I don't know why they'd make such great sounding headphones with such cheap low quality vinyl padding. And honestly i've only worn them 20 times in the last year and then i store them on the shelf in my room. I can't wear then anymore cause the stuff goes everywhere even though they sound great. What a waste of my money.

The Audio Technica ATH-M50x are a pretty good headphone. I used these to mix releases for years (before that the regular ATH-M50). The ATH-M50x sound pretty flat with good bass response and flat frequency response throughout. I have noticed that with all ATH-M50 models eventually they somewhat die. By this I mean there begins to be a rattling distortion in one and I assume eventually both ears. At low volumes this isn’t much of an issue but some frequencies even at moderate levels seem to make these headphones not perform as they did new. These are very comfortable and I didn’t find myself getting ear fatigue or discomfort from prolonged use. I would probably buy these again when I start booking DJ gigs again. But for now I’m doing all my mixing on Shure se215 wired earbuds. I know that sounds crazy to do serious mixing on earbuds but the se215s are the best sounding headphone (earbud) I’ve ever heard with detailed flat bass and crystal clean frequency response. The ATH-M50s have a good sound but aren’t as durable as they should be.

Came here just cause I've had these headphones for about three years and I've realised I haven't had a single issue with them. Not one. They've been absolutely fantastic, especially for the price point. Great sound quality, they block out music in the gym but also have fidelity (and no latency) that make them perfect for music recording on a budget. Would recommend time and time again.
So good I've owned two pairs

Honestly I used these for years and never had a problem, loved the sounds quality, totally changed the way I thought about music. Every other headphone or earbud I use gets compared to the sound quality of these because it was just that good.

This was my second time owning these headphones, the first time I purchased them when they arrived the right headphone didn't work and only sound from the left headphone worked. I returned them for another pair thinking it was just a fluke and for awhile it was. However recently the right headphone randomly stopped working again. Very annoying.
Great sound, but poor headband quality.

I've loved these headphones but just a little over a year the band disintegrated and started showering me with dust and flakes from the super thin band. The headband needs some serious focus. These are supposed to be premium headphones.

i primarily want to use these for gaming and i remember a couple years ago, im sure it was the same headphone design ATH-M50x and they were heavier and felt more durable and now they are made of like cheap plastic and i just want to know if those headphones were still alive or purchasable? or if you guys just changed all these studio headphones to plastic like a couple years ago because i thought i was getting the same headphones i tried out in like 2014 or around those years. but the plastic completely threw me off.
