Q: Width of 50 inches -does that include the side panels? Or, is the middle panel 50 inches?

This fire screen is exactly what I've been looking for and exceeded my expectations. All of the screens we've had before were light-weight and felt flimsy - e.g, the sides would eventually work themselves loose and fall off even after having secured them with additional screws. This screen is substantial and has some weight/heft to it. We also appreciate the fact this screen fully covers the fire box thereby eliminating sparks. It's been in daily use now for two weeks and the more we look at it, the more we appreciate the clean, elegant lines against the stone fireplace and the black, granite hearth. The price-point may be higher than what could be found at a big-box store but is considerably less than a specialty, retail store. This was a good purchase and one which I don't regret.

first you can still see the fire great through it! the handles on top are nice for easy moving to stoke or add another log, do get hot though so be mindful. lightweight and folds flat which is nice.Recommend !

This is a very solid, well-made screen. Nothing fancy about it, but what you see is what you get, and that was perfect for me. My fireplace facing is black slate, and this looks much better with it than the old brass screen that it replaced. It sits a bit closer to the fire than the old screen, but I like that because there is less chance of a spark being ejected over the screen.

Well made, arrived quickly, Good black powder coat finish. The screen is a bit lighter weight than I expected - I purchased another screen (different design) a number of years ago, and it's heavier. But this one is fine, it looks clean and elegant and does the job.
