The product is acceptable given that it is plastic. Setup is not trivial, but there are instructions. See reviews for problems like leaking, short spigot syndrome, lack of winterization, and so on. In fact, having gone through several hundred reviews, there were a number of concerning issues. Two emails asking about these – no response. Only by waiting on hold for over 30 min did I get answers from a very pleasant staff person. She confirmed the dysfunction of the system I had struggled with. Customer service is subpar. Apparently, their management software is sketchy. They do not respond to emails and you cannot currently track your status on the website. If there is a problem, shipping this back would be a massive hassle – given that you saved the boxes. Think long and hard about this purchase.

This was a gift, we enjoyed it for 4 years, but it doesn't hold water any more. Water just leaks out through the sides.

We purchased three of these 12 years ago. I did manage to break one, and the overflow tube just recently broke off the other.We just bought two new ones and they have beefier outflow tubes Love these

I wanted something that looked pretty since this sits prominently in my back yard. It DOES look nice, but it's terribly leaky. Most of the fastenings are plastic and some of them cracked immediately. I tried multiple times to fix the leaking issues and ended up using a boatload of superglue and silicon caulk. This thing is a hot mess and I'm stuck with it. Also, the 'reservoir' in the top is impractical - it fills with water and debris and is frankly a mess. This is a horribly designed and very expensive product.

Unfortunately, last year our winter was mild and the barrel had no issues. This year our single digits caused my rain barrel to freeze, swell and fall over breaking the top. I should have emptied it completely and covered it.

Best when utilized with a 1,350 GPH Algreen Pump for increased water pressure. Also, throw a Mosquito Dunk in the tank so they won't create a breeding ground in your tank!

I tried to patch the crack but the pressure of the water is too much for the flex seal patch to hold. I would recommend with trepidation.

Catching rain is great. Leaky plumbing connections are wasteful. Not certain how to fix the problem. Maybe buy a sleeve for the spigot and hose connection or cut a bike tire and use plastic cement? Any ideas!?

I was excited to receive this today, but when I went to assemble it I noticed the drain hole in the bottom of the barrel had been fitted with an internally threaded piece rather than the externally threaded piece the instructions specify and which the shut-off valve is meant to thread onto. This is an issue, and I await a response from customer service about this order.

This is a lovely & large rain barrel however it does not come with a 5' hose despite the product description listing said hose. The hose is absolutely necessary since the bottom has a threaded drain hole and does not come with a plug for the hole. The rain barrel does come with a plastic screen, a spigot and a shut off valve to put on the nonexistent hose. As other reviewers have mentioned, you will need to a saw to open the over flow spout and we plan on using a drill to add holes to the decorative planter portion of the top for more drainage.

Do not order this rain barrel. It is not as shown in the picture. All of the accessories are missing and you must order from Algreen Products. These photos are very misleading. I was replacing an urn with a leak and was very disappointed in this purchase.

I purchased this rain barrel to replace one the we have had for at least 7 years. I was disappointed when we received it because it did not come assembled and requires you to use a saw to cut the overflow valve. The description said it will be fine in harsh weather, so I guess we will see. It looks like it will crack after about a couple of years. The assembly instructions are horrible and can not get help even from the company that makes the barrel. Can't believe that you pay over $200 for this rain barrel and they didn't even cut the overflow valves. Disappointing

This is my second Algreen Cascade water barrel. I love the look, as both have been installed at the front of my homes. Easy to install, but you'll need to visit a local home store to get supplies. Overflow works great, but you need a hose or tube to make it work right. Raise the barrel up on blocks or stone to allow for easy watering can filling. My HOA loved the look outside, just wish they still had the grey colored variety.

I absolutely LOVE this rain tank. It fit perfectly under our gutter. We did tell the guy that set them up that we'd be using a rain tank and the dimensions so he could appropriately cut the gutter. It is beautiful, easy to set up and lightweight! It looks like terracotta but is plastic, so it's easy to move without water in it. The hose has an on and off switch so it's great. It's not very long so we either fill a watering can or bring the plants close to it. It could use a longer hose, but overall that doesn't affect my star rating. I will say I will need more because it definitely overflows with South Florida level raining. The good news is that there is a port for you to put them next to each other in a series! We definitely will be purchasing again.

I use two pairs of these rain barrels, linked together to capture the rain from my front and back roofs. They are easy to link together. They all fill completely up, with less than an inch of water. My oldest rain barrel is at least five years old and they continue to perform well.A simple tip is to only screw down one side of the screen, and lightly drew the other side. In this manner, one an easily peek inside the barrel to easily monitor the level of the water. No screwdriver need to view! I highly recommend.

It's a rain barrel. But a very pretty rain barrel that reminds me of a trip my wife and I took to Greece, It was perfect and a good size.

Love the larger capacity and th he spigot. The seive is fine enough to keep out almost all debris. Drill holes in the top reservoir or it might become a mosquito breeding pond.

The bowl on top can be used for silk flowers or Greenery which I have done with styrofoam but the water comes rushing so hard it often overflows the entryway and Spills it out. So we are drilling a hole in the top piece. And the plantar looks perfectly great even without any added decoration. It looks good on its own.

We use the rainwater to water our vegetable garden as well as our greenhouse plants.
