RiverRidge Kids' Desk, Activity and Play Table with 6 Storage Cubbies

I never leave reviews but I feel I need to save others from making a $120 mistake! I wish I could negatively rate this table! P.S. I’m also the person who reads negative reviews and thinks “Hey, most of the reviews are good. That negative review might have been someone having issues or they wanted more for their money than they got.” This is not the case with this review: Buyer beware. Seriously. The main frame of this is paper - literally pressed paper - one 6 year old nudging it on its tiny 2 inch light-.weight wood blocks, and you have a worthless piece of junk. The lags are super tiny and you have to press, when turning, and once the tool slips, you have more dents. Your child nudges it when getting up and the legs shift and it RIPS! Arrived securely wrapped in styrofoam - box looked fine so I hauled it to my living room to set it up. Took 4 days to arrive so my kiddo and I were super excited. The box was super HEAVY so I assumed it was similar to bookcases I had just ordered and assembled (for the same price) from a different company. Bookcases were super sturdy and gorgeous! Yay! Now for the table and more toy storage! I carefully unwrapped everything (which made a HUGE mess -static electricity and styrofoam have me still cleaning up, 2 days later) and the bottom of the table was damaged (huge dent). I figured it was on the bottom, was super heavy, and I had no way to get it back in the box and return so I was going to have to deal with the dent. I realize now, I should have boxed it all back up, asked the neighbor to help load and hauled it back to Target. The tool slipped off the tiny lag and made another dent. After assembly, the 6 year old nudged the table as he was getting up from playing his cars on it and the entire bottom corner ripped (yes, I said ripped) apart. It’s currently upside down on my living room with glue and a brick trying to salvage it because I can’t afford to just toss $120 in the trash. At this point, I’m not even sure how to salvage it or if it can be salvaged. It lasted 2 days! I tried to secure the legs on differently and it ripped apart again. I didn’t expect this to be a $600 piece of furniture made of real wood, but I did expect it to arrive undamaged and to actually be useable for my 6 year old to store toys and play on in my living room since that’s what it is “sold” as in the description. Don’t do it. Please! It’s a practical idea, great design idea, but it’s a product that is money grab- not worth the paper it’s made of and will not withstand what it is designed to do when you can’t even get it shipped to you without damage and can’t move it without it ripping apart. What a waste of anticipation, time, and money. Im sick to my stomach. Shame on you for carrying this piece of junk Target!!

Great piece! Not its intended use but makes the perfect table for our small animal cage. Cubbies are small (ish) but the room essentials bins work perfectly. Sturdy and easy to put together.

Beware - the cubbies are not a standard size! They are slightly smaller than the smaller, standard size 11” bin, so you will need the River Ridge brand of bins. Not a huge deal since they seem to be reasonably priced and readily available, but it’s not mentioned in the description and could be problematic if you have bins you wanted to use. Beyond that, I’m happy with the table. It was easy to assemble, feels decently sturdy, and is a good multipurpose table for our den/playroom.

Our girls (4 & 6) love it! Perfect height to do puzzles, legos, and crafting activities. Storage underneath is nice and convenient for toys.

This table is so easy to put together and looks so nice. The top, both and side pieces are thick, heavy boards, which seems to make it sturdy. I have bought three of these tables over the last year or so.
