Boon GRUB 2-in-1 Convertible High Chair for Baby & Toddler Chair with Dishwasher-Safe Seat & Tray

I smashed my baby’s finger clipping the tray on, it was awful. The tray is super bulky and you clip it in at an angle. Couldn’t even see that baby had slipped his hand under tray when I was clipping it down. It caused a pretty significant injury and I was honestly surprised it wasn’t worse. Besides the tray concerns - the footprint is huge because the legs are so wide. Difficult to find space for it at a counter or table because of this. The straps are easy to remove but too easy - I worry they could slip out of the slots on the chair easily and baby could fall.

I’ve never written a review on anything but do not buy this highchair. The tray is the most non user friendly thing I think I’ve ever used. It’s extremely hard to put on and off and pinched my babies leg. It’s just a really bad design. Save your money.

This high chair is awesome. I love how easy it is to clean. It’s easy to remove the padding and straps to launder…plus they’ve held up with all the washing. I haven’t tried to put it in the dishwasher, but it would take up so much space, it seems wasteful to run a cycle. Yes, the tray is a little tricky to figure out the first time. But honestly, I think it’s way easier than some other ones out there that are “suppose to be easy” to use with one hand. After I remove the tray, I set it under the seat on the cross bar….no need to set it on a counter or table. In fact I keep there when not in use. I also really appreciate the holder on the back of the chair for bibs. I’m looking forward to using this as a regular chair for my son soon. We’ve been using this for our counter height table and it’s been great. After having this for well over a year, I am totally happy I bought this.

This high chair is AMAZING. I’m a FTM who spent months during pregnancy researching high chairs. I wanted one that was good for baby’s posture but also very easy to clean. I have now been using this high chair for 3 months (started feeding solids at 4 months old and she’s now 7 months old). My family made fun of me when they saw the chair because they’re used to the huge high chairs with the big, fluffy seat padding, and compared to that this chair looks tiny. But it holds my baby fine with plenty of room to grow! I love that it can be bar height or table height (have used both) and later on it can become a toddler chair. Cleaning this seat consists of popping of the strap and seat pad (takes about 30 seconds), throwing them in the washer, and roaming the tray off at the sink. It couldn’t get any easier, and there are no little crevices or holes for food to get stuck in and hidden forever like some other chairs I researched. I saw the reviews about this tray being hard to remove. I googled how to remove the tray and found a YouTube video immediately that showed how to quickly remove the tray. I got it my first try and am confident I could remove it quickly in an emergency situation. This chair has been one of my top baby must-haves, and I’ll tell everyone I know about it! 😂 For reference, in the picture my baby is about 6 months old, 17 pounds, and 26 inches long. The tray is set on it’s “closest to baby” setting, so it can be brought out 2 more settings to make room as she grows. The foot rest can also be lowered when the time comes.

We put this together in around 10 minutes. A great size for bar height. We use it next to our kitchen island & our son really likes it. The foot rest isn't able to get high enough for small ones like our almost 5 month old. But our LO doesn't seem to mind. The reviews about the tray being hard to remove are kind of right, but take 10 seconds to practice taking it off & putting it back on, & you'll be fine. The forearms under the tray while you lift up works like a charm. Just takes some being proactive. Also the tray fits perfectly under the seat on top of the crossbars! Just think outside the box lol. 10/10!!

The Boom Grub has so many features that are unique, but the dishwasher-safe seat and tray take the cake! It’s easy to wipe down even if you don’t want to put it in the dishwasher every time, but it’s so nice to have that option given how messy meal times can be! The five point harness is very secure, the adjustable footrest allows for safe eating, and I also love the adjustable height. So much to love and would highly recommend this high chair!

I originally received a graco high chair from my baby shower. Once my little one started solids I found it was literally impossible to clean. So I went on the hunt for an easy to clean high chair. This chair is everything!! SO easy to clean. Some reviews said the tray is hard to get off and that’s true but there is a trick and once you figure out the trick it’s totally fine!!

It looks cute and has a spacious tray. That is the extent of the nice things I can say about this item. Extremely inconvenient in that it doesn't fold up, so you can never put it away, but he legs are angled such that the kids are constantly tripping over it. The dishwashing seat feature is a moot point because it's not super easy to disassemble. The buckle cannot easily be removed to be washed so thats a pain. The tray cleans easy, but also scratches easily. Overall, if this high chair cost $40 I would say it's a decent purchase. It's sad that you can't find a chair with a nice aesthetic AND convenience folds up and cleans up easy. Also, the tray is ANNOYINGLY challenging to pop on and off. Both sets of grandparents could not figure it out and got really frustrated.

Like: everything about it! Dislike: the tabs on the underside of the tray that lock/unlock from the chair itself can get bent inward so sometimes it makes it annoying to put on but that’s so minor compared to how awesome this is! I’ve read some other reviews about the tray being hard to get off but even in an emergency (which we’ve practiced) it was not difficult at all if you practice a few times after getting it set up. The quality is amazing and it truly does not stain! We’ve made homemade enchiladas with black chiles (it wouldn’t let me type the Spanish word) and that sauce stains everything…. But not the tray or the chair! The design is beautiful and it’s easy to add or remove legs to the bottom to make it counter height and table height. I love that the chair can continue to be used for several years as a high chair or regular chair and the seat itself cleans surprisingly well! We use Shout on it before washes and even the enchiladas came out except for a few faded areas! All the plastic material is insanely easy to clean as well and I must point out that the tabs for the seat cushion come out of the seat with ease. I’ve said several times to anyone who will listen that everything on this planet should be this simple to use and clean!

We've been using the Boon Grub for a few months now and I have some thoughts on it. Pros: -Soooooo easy to keep clean. I am consistently grossed out by most high chairs- not the case with this one. -Extra chair pads in other colors available and super easy to wash. I got one extra so we could use one pad while the other is in the wash. They wash like a dream and wipe pretty well too. -Large tray that fits most of my child's suction plates/ toys. -Foot rest to avoid choking -Will turn into a seat for my little guy once he outgrows it and he can use it at a small arts and crafts table we have for him so I like that it's eco-friendly in that way. -Smaller footprint than I thought it would be and definintely smaller than most high chairs Cons: -The tray. It is super loud to get on and off and It took me a few tries to get it. Once you get it, you get it. I usually have to use a little knee action to get it loose. Honestly this has been a dream to use overall and I would super recommend it.

I ignored the bad reviews because I thought "these are just people who don't know how to take a tray off." I got this high chair anyway because it looked easy to clean. That's where the positive ends. It's an easy to clean chair, but it's otherwise terrible construction. I should've listened to the bad reviews & regret asking for it on my registry. The tray is SO hard to remove, baby could easily get their face whacked in the process. The harness straps are also SOOOO unsecure & regardless of tightening on the front, the backs of them can very very easily slip through the holes in the chair. This is incredibly unsafe & I would never seat my child in this chair even with me watching him. We are getting rid of it after one use & we are going to buy something else.

I want to like this high chair but the tray design is so so bad. It requires two hands to remove and then once removed you can’t just put in on the table to get your child out because the crotch piece is attached to the tray preventing it from sitting flat on the table. Food and liquid can get in where the crotch belt comes out of. The shoulder straps and waist strap are two separate entities so you have to connect the two of them to one another before you can even snap it into the crotch buckle. It is easy to wipe down and I like height for our counter height table.

Love this chair!!! I read the reviews- so I was nervous about the tray. But i practiced and It’s fine!!! Place both arms on the sides. Pull the latch with index fingers and use your arms a bit to angle the tray up. It’s really easy. It gets a little easier to do it each time. The fit is so nice for baby. The harness is easy and too notch too. Love to throw this in the dishwasher! Something about the material is sooooooo easy to keep clean. My baby loves sitting in it. I like the adjustable footrest too and the option to have it higher if we purchase a different table. The tray is a great size too!

I ignored the reviews that mention how difficult it is to get the tray off. It is EXTREMELY hard. If baby was choking I could not get to them fast enough. Invest your money in something more efficient.

Bought this for my 7 month old and the first one I received had defects. The tray did not align with the designated holes & some screws wouldn’t tighten. Ordered a replacement. Overall is very easy to assemble. Not to big & bulky, which is perfect for smaller spaces. Love the different height levels. The tray is pretty hard to remove once it’s on.

We LOVE this high chair! We are doing a mix of BLW and purées, and after 4 months, I can confirm this chair is easy to clean! It also has not stained, despite serving lots of colorful foods. The seat cushion washes up really well too. The counter height matches up perfectly to our dining table and island - it’s the only model I’ve found that does. Assembly was easy enough using the directions. I did have an issue getting the footrest installed (bent piece), but I contacted the manufacturer and they Immediately sent a replacement. If you have a counter height table or island, I HIGHLY recommend this high chair!! Addressing other reviewers’ complaints… Several have complained about the large footprint (did you not research these dimensions before you purchased??), but I have no issue with them. The footprint is exactly as I expected, and makes total sense to have a wider footprint to allow the chair to be stable at counter height. It feels very secure for my little one. Admittedly, The tray is a little difficult to remove if you don’t know the trick, but once I figured it out, it’s easy. If you reach from the front of the chair with your forearms under the tray, you can click the two latches with your hand and press up with your forearms to remove easily. If you do it this way, it doesn’t send food flying all over your kitchen. The tray does require a two hand removal, but this minimizes the latching system and makes it very easy to clean in the sink or dishwasher. It also does not sit flat on a surface because it has the between-the-leg bar on the bottom to keep baby secure. I’ve found this also isn’t an issue because I can still set the tray on the table or counter if I just let the bar hang over the edge. It also stores under the chair to stay out of the way. Overall, BUY THIS CHAIR!

Hard to remove tray!! This is an important part!! I want to love this high chair but it’s so hard to remove the tray i wish i saved the box to return it.

It’s okay. I love the look but hate the snap in. I’m always afraid I’m going to smash his fingers. It is the perfect counter height and takes up minimal space.

easy to put together, easy to clean, stylish, adjustable height. I've been adding this high chair to cart and putting off buying it since it was released. finally pulled the the trigger and we love it. way more convenient than the big bulky ones. stop delaying and buy it! well worth it for my 5MO.
