Strong points: grippy & durable soles, solid waterproofing, leather quality & appearance. Weak points: stitching, narrow toe box, awkward tongue. I bought a pair of these for conservation and trail work and they've seen extremely heavy use for a year now (rain, mud, rocks, 12 mi/day, 10+ hr/day). I've given them a good bit of love (cleaning & conditioning w/saddle soap & neatsfoot oil, waxing, re-stitching) and they've lasted longer than many of my coworkers', but they're coming apart in multiple places and I've realized they don't actually fit my feet properly, so I'm ready to retire them. Here are my observations! Stitching: the stitching on one heel panel was the first thing to fail, pulling apart after about six months: I've had to repair it twice since then. Some of the stitching around the outer side of the heel and balls of the feet started coming loose after ten. I repaired the former and haven't had further issues with it yet, but I can't fix the latter and it'll eventually be a critical issue if I keep wearing these. Leather: very durable and handsome, still cleans up quite nicely. These boots have been beaten with far more than their fair share of rocks but aren't even close to wearing through anywhere. Soles: great soles, very grippy if a tad flat for my liking. I've seen countless soles come off in my line of work (some of my own included), but these are still securely attached. Laces: I replaced the laces at around seven months as they were getting concerningly worn. They're a tad slippery, but no more than average for round laces. The hooks and eyelets have proved sturdy. Waterproofing: the waterproofing was admirable while it lasted, holding up against two weeks of work largely in ankle-deep puddles and clay slop. Leaking started around six months (failure wasn't due to the undone heel- the waterproofing on that boot actually lasted slightly longer), but I waxed them and haven't noticed any leakage since. Steel toe: does the job (I need to stop getting steel toes or I'm going to get in the habit of resting massive rocks on them!), but I found the toe box cramped, and due to the steel there isn't any stretch as you're breaking in the boots. This is probably just be a me problem, as it turns out I actually need 2XWs, but I regularly got raw patches on the sides and tops of my toes and felt like my feet were being deformed. I was a tad worried about the steel making these boots awkwardly heavy, but the weight honestly hasn't been an issue, though it's still a pleasant surprise switching to a pair of lighter shoes every now and then! Comfort: as mentioned in other reviews, the tongues fit awkwardly against the shins and need careful adjustment during breaking in, but they ended up sitting okay for me and didn't cause any issues in the long run. There is some rub just above the heel: during late summer when my feet were sweating like nobody's business in the hundred-and-something degrees F my Achilles tendons looked like raw bacon, but this wasn't an issue when things were dry. My main comfort complaint is the toe box, but I've already gone over that. Overall, they're a good budget boot. I've gotten very fond of mine, but I wouldn't buy another pair as I need something wider and sturdier for the long haul.

How the tongue is done/ sewn ~ thumbs down

Size 12M were ordered. In terms of my feet specifically, the boots fit well. And this, right outta the gate. They seem very solidly made. I expect that they would have served my purposes and kept me in solid understanding for years. Unfortunately, they’re an item I'm returning. The way that the tongue ON BOTH BOOTS was done, how they’re sewn, the way everything folds over itself ~ no matter how I fussed over this trying to lace them up just so (a little tighter/ a little looser/ shift the folds around in slightly varying ways) ~ they pressed in and were a more obvious nuisance. This element of their design digging into my lower front legs immediately above my ankles, this proves a no go. Lacing up boots like this ~~> it’s central to things for decent ankle support. It’s why one heads toward this style of boot in the first place. Whereas again... the foot area of the boot fit fine. It's this with the tongue on each boot... that all to do with what proved to be the dealkiller. I can’t feature steady wear/ break-in serving to shift the picture enough so this was an issue that I could actually move past in time. Bummerama, having to return them. I own older Georgia boots. They've lasted me a decade and fully filled the bill. It’s too bad this pair won’t fly. The search continues... probably at a brick and mortar store where I can actually try different boots on. Judge them right then and there on the spot.

My opinion, one of the best boots ever made buy any other boots tried every brand out there and none of them last as long as Georgia boots won’t wear any other boot, but George’s the only ones that will stand to last for me as long as I on them, they stay comfortable and completely waterproof my opinion, the best boots ever made for men and women in the workforce industry, and the construction industry

Overall a solid boot. Only issue do far is the right side right foot lower which lace seems to be pulling out. You can see the punched hole in the leather. Hoping it holds since I need these for work. No boot no paycheck

Superb boots that keep my feet dry even in ankle deep water and the soles do very well in the slick clay here in No Cal. Very comfortable and warm. I have had this pair for 3 years and they wear extremely well. When they do finally wear out, I'll be ordering another pair. Thank you Georgia Boot!

1st Product Review Ever - Awesome Work Boots!

Bought a pair of these about 10 years ago and have worn them almost daily since in stamping & forging manufacturing environments, so many hours walking on concrete floors. They were comfortable from the moment I tried them on and have continued getting more comfortable as the years have gone by. Love the stiff steel shanks as I've never felt the steel toe on the top of my foot. I just recently had to replace the laces for the first time and reglue the soles, but they'll probably last another 10 years now. I even wear them some on my days off. Only getting a new pair since my employer will reimburse. Hope the quality of this next pair is as good as the last. Wish they were available in black.

So far one of the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever had on my feet. Got to replace a pair of another company's loggers that lost their waterproofing due to dropping 2- 8x12 steel road plates on my foot. Everyone told me "get the Georgias" so I did. Best boot purchase I've made in a long time. Thanks for the quality footwear and very reasonable price.

Expensive and Outdoor Use Only

I purchased this product in early January and it took about 3 months for me to finally receive them. Being the most expensive footwear I've ever bought I had high hopes. It's one of the only boots I've been able to find in my size with the features I need as well (Size 7, Waterproof, Steel Toe, Thick Sole). While I do think they look pretty, they are deeply uncomfortable for me. They absolutely do not bode well on the concrete floors of a warehouse and with my significant heel to toe stride i end up walking on the backs of the sole which hurts my heels and ankles. I can tell these would otherwise be comfortable boots, though, as they do feel great when standing still (better than any shoe I've ever had). Additionally I wear a size 7 but these fit like a 7½.

I bought these boots because they were instantly comfortable when I tried them on in the store. I figured for the price if they wore out quick or didn't feel comfortable I could always get a different set without being out a fortune. I had been apprehensive about buying Georgia boots because of the negative reviews I had seen on-line but these have met and exceeded all my expectations. 7 months later and after daily wear in Iraq they are still comfortable and are holding up quite nicely with no sign of cracking or splitting. The soles are still supple and show minimal wear for the conditions they have been through. I can't say anything about how waterproof they were because 1. very little rain and 2. I grease my boots with Huberd's boot grease. The insulation is holding up well and is the perfect amount for 120+ degree weather. I will definitely be buying another pair if I ever wear these out.
