For example memory foam whether on the top of mattress or mattress being 100% memory foam can cause a warm sleeping environment. Next are the sheets, blankets, comforters, etc. have differing effect on the sleeping environment temperature. For the mattress pad, cotton covers offer the best option to have a natural cooling. Second, many fabrics and fills offer water wicking which allows the moisture in or on the mattress pad to dissipate or spread out to help promote a more comfortable nights sleep. A: This mattress pad is extremely hot. We are not hot sleepers. We have a down comforter on our bed and have never broken into a sweat until we got this. Woke up in pools of sweat.
