Description
Did you know that coffee beans were originally discovered in Ethiopia?
This flavorful blend features beans sourced from two distinct (and equally-celebrated) regions within the country, Yirgacheffe and Guji. You'll have the best of both worlds in every sip.
The Yirgacheffe beans are sourced from Bedhatu Jibicho, who has been cultivating coffee on her farm since the 1950s. She is over 80 and is passing on the traditional techniques of processing Ethiopian coffee to the next generation.
The Guji beans are naturally-processed, which involves drying them in the sun while still inside of the coffee cherry. Natural processing imparts a fruity sweetness to the beans, and they can be easily enjoyed without sugar or milk.
ABOUT KAHAWA 1893:
Kahawa 1893 is a specialty coffee company founded and run by Margaret Nyamumbo, a third-generation coffee farmer from Kenya. Kahawa means “coffee” in Swahili, the primary language spoken there. Margaret grew up on a coffee farm in Kisii, four hours from Kenya’s capital, Nairobi.
As a child, Margaret observed that women supply 90% of coffee production labor but often see little or no financial gain. She founded Kahawa 1893 to help empower the women that make coffee trade possible and share exquisite African beans with the world.

I love the Ethiopia Single Origin and have repurchased several times! I love a solid, delicious cup of coffee, and this does not disappoint. The quality and flavor is excellent. It has a rich, chocolatey flavor that has just the right subtle floral notes, and is smooth but definitely not boring. It has depth and it is drinkable. Just the perfect coffee for me, and if it sounds like something you’d like, it’s worth a try! I usually buy a couple bags at a time and for the quality and taste, the price is worth it. This particular roast is not available on the Kahawa site, looks like it’s special for Target, so I’ll keep purchasing.
Smooth Jazzzz!

After trying coffees from beans all over the world I started buying only Ethiopian Coffee, because they were just clearly and consistently the best-tasting coffees. I hate bitterness in coffee, I want the chocolate, sweet, non acidic kind of taste - which makes finding a coffee hard, but this coffee is perfect, medium roast coffee with a clean mouth feel and bright complex flavors. I brewed it with a French press and I'm excited to try it out in the V60 pour over next so I can see how good it truly is. I'll be adding this to my list of personal favorites and will definitely purchase it again in the future. It’s not only delicious, but it’s own by a third generation coffee farmer from Kenya - I am happy to support women farmers with this fairly traded coffee.

I'm usually a dark roast guy (and love Kahawa's Serengeti), but decided to try this balanced, flavorful medium roast. I was not disappointed. I believe they use super high quality arabica beans from Africa and the taste and quality in unparalleled. Very good coffee - fun way to start the morning.
