Q: Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) = plastic in "Plant Powered" Laundry Detergent Why is this the 2nd ingredient in your list, as it has been proven to be an environmental pollutant and its healtheffect unknown
A: We are committed to and are constantly seeking ways to responsibly reduce plastic waste. For that reason, we offer laundry sheets without a plastic bottle. Our sheets use polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)that is the specific grade approved by the EPA’s Safer Choice program. This material is highly water-soluble, has no potential to bioaccumulate in biota, and does not meet the chemical definition of a microplastic. In other words, the PVA used in our sheets the detergent will never not degrade into microplastics and is not a rigid plastic.
