Q: We live in the woods and have raccoons nearby. Can raccoons take the cover off of the Redmon 65 Gal Compost Bin?
A: There are two possible suggestions in a case where larger vermin may be a problem: 1. Be particular about what you are composting (yard waste like leaves and grass clippings are generally not an attractant). Do not compost some kitchen scraps that may be especially of interest to raccoons and other larger vermin. 2. Consider relocating the bin to an area the raccoons will avoid. You could also do something to secure the lid. However, if you have added food scraps to your compost that are an attractant, most larger vermin will find a way in. Better to compost your food scraps (in this case) in a different area.
