When I opened I almost threw away what I thought was packing. This is not what I would call foam, like those egg crate pads. It is like hard like spray insulation foam, that's the best I can describe. My sister had something like this that I slept on. No one could sleep on this it's so hard. I had planned to lay on in front of the TV but no way. It is a very firm chair but that's it. If you want something for sleeping or napping pay a little more & get real foam. I'd send back if it wasn't so big. PS I do love the Nobagratz family.
