Brother 2340CV 2/3/4 Thread Cover Stitch Serger Machine

This machine is easy to thread and use. There is a learning curve. Once mastered it makes hemming circle skirts or anything easy.

I'm still eager to put this machine to work but struggling with the tension. There really needs to be a better way to get the tension settings figured out right away. It seems to be a delicate balance. I'm watching all the videos I can find and practicing on a variety of fabrics but have not found the sweet spot yet.

I received this as a retirement gift and am enjoying it immensely. The initial learning curve was pretty steep, but now I feel like an old pro at it. As they say, practice makes perfect. After spending time on YouTube looking at videos, there are other things I wish it would do but those are more expensive machines. This one runs well, isn't very loud and does what it's designed to do efficiently and quickly. Overall, I really like it a lot and plan to use it for many years.

My cover stitch machine has become my best friend I luv it and it has mad doing my business that much easier. Thank you

We dont have much experience so we opted for a CV instead of a regular sewing machine. Im glad we did because this is so easy to use and can do a lot more than a regular sewing machine. We watched some YouTube videos to guide us and my wife has turned this into her favorite new hobby. She turned winter clothes into summer clothes, dresses into shorts, fitted my dress pants and she is now trying her hand at making fancy designs. This CV would pay for itself in no time simply by not buying new clothes.

I She took it to her sewing teacher and they love how it's so easy to create custom stitching on multiple fabrics! Easy to thread and the foot petal did all of the work! They have been playing with colors and different styles and each one is as flawless as the first! Highly recommended!! My daughter is 13 and has been sewing for several years. I don't have the talent that she does, but I love this machine for her!

The looks of this machine I thought it was a serger and I couldn't figure out why it was not cutting the material but it is a cover stitch machine. There are so many different stitches you can do with this that it shows in the book, however it does not tell you what settings you need to put the thread/needle on to get that stitch. The basic 2 stitches that they do give you the setting information worked perfect and looks great. At first I could not get the material out/released and it would knot up under the needles inside the machine. I figured out that if you open the front cover and clip the thread that is in the looper the material will come out. The machine is sturdy and the instructions for threading the machine were very detailed. There are so many options to use this machine on....hems of tshirts, attaching lace, tape and elastic, hemming, belt loops etc. Great machine and can't wait to get some sewing done!

This is the first coverstitch machine I’ve used and I’m amazed at what it can do. I think that the videos found online are really useful. With the online guidance, I don’t find it super difficult to use, especially after playing with it for a while. The stitching is very neat and organized. I also think the machine is super quick and the hems come out looking attractive.

The settings allow you to adjust the speed of your materials coming through the machine which is very helpful. It makes beautiful stiches and is easy to use. I love how you can use this machine on a variety of materials and also use a variety of stiches. If you are having any trouble setting up your machine and getting used to the layout, I would recommend reviewing some online videos to help you out. The quality of work this machine does is so professional looking. I can't stop working on new projects. It also comes with a warranty which is a huge bonus.

The Brother 2340CV Serger has been making my hemming and serging so much easier .The machine is packaged well in box. Very easy to read and follow along with the manual for quick and easy start and set up. All the extra pieces and parts are included in the 2340cv. Instructions were precise and clear. I can not believe I have been sewing for so many years without a serger. I highly recommend for a beautiful addition to your machines.

This device is a little hard to understand at first, but it is very useful and is really a necessary machine if you are always using a sewing machine or want to create clothes from raw fabric.
