About the Book
"The definitive Beatrix Potter stories with the original full-color illustrations in a large format."--Book Synopsis
The definitive Beatrix Potter stories with the original full-color illustrations in a large format. Perfect for storytelling fun at bedtime or any time! Follow the exciting and whimsical adventures of Peter Rabbit and some of his most famous feathery, furry, and froggy friends! This colossal volume features all four original stories featuring the famous bunny, including The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, The Tale of Mr. Tod, and The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies as well as some of Potter's lesser-known, but equally-as-charming yarns, including The Tale of Tom Kitten, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher, The Tailor of Gloucester, and The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin. The basis for countless television shows, films, and spin-offs, Peter Rabbit has been hailed as one of the bestselling stories of all time. The original story features a young rebellious rabbit who, despite his mother's wishes, enters the dangerous garden of Mr. McGregor to feast on its endless bounty. From there on out, he gets himself into all kinds of trouble and learns a valuable lesson.Review Quotes
Praise for Beatrix Potter "Overlooked no more . . . [Beatrix Potter] created one of the world's best-known characters for children. . . . In her lifetime, Potter went on to write 22 more books, whimsical but razor-sharp stories about soon-to-become enduring characters like Jemima Puddle-Duck and Benjamin Bunny. Her characters, dressed in waistcoats and bonnets, were rendered with meticulous attention to anatomical detail, an outgrowth of Potter's long interest in natural science." --The New York Times "A keen observer of the natural world." --Smithsonian Magazine
About the Author
Beatrix Potter loved the countryside and spent much of her childhood drawing and studying animals. The Tale of Peter Rabbit, published in 1902, was her first book, expanded from an illustrated letter she had sent to a young friend. Beatrix Potter went on to publish more than twenty tales and collections of rhymes. Potter herself is considered one of the most successful and important figures in children's literature who, according to TheNew Yorker, "delighted in the detail and humor of the natural world."Dimensions (Overall): 10.1 Inches (H) x 8.1 Inches (W) x .9 Inches (D)
