Ok so I LOVE how it looks. I bought two for my kitchen. Within 2 months of use we tired to open to refill it and it was too challenging because it was stuck. Wo opened and filled it and one of them would not align with the cup so the pump wouldn’t go down properly to pump the soap out. I thought we may have twisted it to the wrong way and it is our fault. So I bought another and within a month it happened again and I am sure we sis nothing wrong this time. Not to mention that even if I fell it half way, still the soap spills everywhere! Its too disappointing

I recently bought this to replace the smaller version. I'm disappointed becuase it is constantly leaking meaning it constantly sat in a pool of liquud the whole time.

I have several, they all eventually break and ooze. I've tried thinner soap, I've tried not filling near the fill line. I had five of these. I'm down to two and about to break up with them completely as there is always soap under them and under the window part. The finish on the metal tip on the pump also discolours quickly. I am a huge umbra design fan - these are 5 stars for form, 1 star for function and durability.

I regret purchasing the Umbra penguin soap dispenser. After just one refill, the pump jammed, making it nearly impossible to dispense soap. The design may be cute, but the quality is severely lacking. I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable soap dispenser.

had it 4 years at least, nice design, practical shape to use, cover not like silicone for instance - soft but a bit hard to keep it very perfect clean like for the first day. Good product in general. But it would be great to see more modern colours in collection, like beige, taupe, or something like this :) - not so dark but refering more fresh and light design

I purchased this last December and threw it out in 2 months. The internal black plastic piece would not unscrew from the bottle and had to force it out. Trying to get the mechanism back in line with the mechanics of the pump did not work and i ended up getting soap all over the counter. Adorable but not functional.

Super cute but I don't know why the lid won't unlock properly and remains semi unlocked all the time as the dispenser part that is supposed to be connected to the lid isn't. really disappointed with the quality. Maybe I just got a bad one but it doesn't make me want to buy another one in case this happens again.

I can’t open this dispenser to refill. Followed all the instructions, watched a utube, nothing works. I’ll probably toss it, since it can’t be refilled. Wait….maybe tossing it across the room will open it!

Soap pools at bottom + won’t release to pump

In less the year, this lovely looking pump is unusable. Soap pools at the location you can see through at bottom. It weights down the pump action, rendering it no possible to pump. We continually pull it apart to clean it, but it just keeps happening. Real bummer!

Came damaged. Nozzle was bent and the soap leaks out the sides of the pump. To bad we have a lot of umbra products this was the first time something was just terrible quality

I have been using this style pump for years. No issues whatsoever. The biggest thing for me with this design is it doesn't cause the soap to get dilated as happens with other dispensers because the pump is completely water tight. By this I mean, when you push down on it with your wet hands to dispense the soap, water doesn't get inside.

I bought two of these a week ago. The instruction is to twist the base and it will come out of the black cover to fill up - but there is an internal black "cap" that does not disconnect from the "bottle" base and separates from the spout inside the black cover. I then have to spend time taking it off then putting it back on and lining it up with the spout. The press down gets stuck as well so that a "soft touch" won't work or make it bounce back. I am also having issues with soap getting all over the container between the bottle and the black cover. Very disappointed. Likely will need to throw out and replace with something better.
