Very poor packaging

I just purchased a 24 pack of #312 Hearing Aid Batteries. While I really like the batteries, the new packaging they come in is the poorest design I have ever experienced. Whoever designed this packaging should be fired! You need scissors to open the package! How many people carry around a pair of scissors to open their battery packaging? What about people with disabilities? How are they going to get the packaging open? It's not only child proof, it's also adult proof. This is the worst of the worst. Surely you can do better than this.

Batteries are absolutely awful to access!

Efforts to CHILDPROOF is effective, however accessing the batteries is very difficult for users even using sissors! I wind up using a screwdriver to open the package. I carry spare batteries with me at all times however I cannot carry sissors with me especially when going through TSA checkpoints. Design a user-friendly accessable package,

Time for a change

As a long time user of your hearing aid batteries I must inform you it is time we part ways. The majority of people that use this product are seniors and you have literally senior proofed your packaging. Use scissors...I get it. Even with scissors, it's still a burden that I don't have to endure with other batteries that perform just as good as yours, at the same price point.

Absolutely the worst batteries to open

My husband and I are senior citizens, we received your batteries when we bought our hearing aids. We have not been able to use our hearing aids until we bought different batteries, because of the extreme difficulty they are to get out of the package.we are very, very disappointed, because they are good batteries just to difficult to open. We feel it was money wasted on a fixed income.

New packaging you have to have a pair of scissors with you at all time. I use 6 to 7 batteries a week I have to replace every 3 to 4 days. Your packaging engineered are a joke. I asked 3 adults to try to open they could not without losing a finger and using an box cutter. I bought 198 batteries so they would last 6 months or so I am going to trash your batteries and purchase another brand that I can carry a package in my pocket and change batteries when they go dead in the doctors, dentist. restaurant, or visiting friends home and I have borrow a pair of scissors from the doctor, dentist etc. Piece of junk

The new six pack with a number 312CR-6LNCUS is very hard to open. I used to carry the old package in my pocket and could change the battery anywhere. With the new package I have to use tin snips to cut the package. I also bought small battery container to carry spares. Kitchen scissors and the scissors on my knife were not strong enough to open the package.

Worst package ever. I am 84 and used 312 battery for about 20 years. New six packs are impossible to open. Show state they are senior proof instead of child proof.

DANGEROUS Packaging

My husband recently purchased the 312 batteries and commented he could no longer open the packaging. While he was searching YouTube for opening instructions, I went after the plastic with tools. The “open with scissors” comment on the package definitely overestimates its simplicity. First I tried to pry it open with a screwdriver. That was a tough one and a slip would have meant a nice gouge in my palm. Secondly, I opted for the scissors but the thick plastic probably ruined them. With a lot of strength, I cut it into pie-shaped pieces and released the batteries by separating at the sharp points, another dangerous step. The batteries flew out several times but I finally put them all into plastic bags to be carried in my husband’s pockets or easily accessed by children. What an ordeal! We just spent a lovely evening focusing on those darn chil-resistant packages. We can’t wait to finish these so we can buy from a different manufacturer that tests their products on the target consumer group.

I have liked these batteries in the past. Usually last a good week, but now due to new packaging, just like all small batteries, I find these unbelievable difficult to open. I challenge you to come up with packaging that meets the law but does not require scissors and brute strength to open and use your product. You would certainly get my business and a lot of other hearing aid wearers who have chose not to use rechargeable hearing aids so we are not limited in our use of them.

I’ve bought Rayovac 312 batteries for several years and they are as good as Energizer and Duracell and as good as the German made one that came with my hearing aids. BUT I have purchased my last package. Prior to the ones I purchased a month ago, they were fairly easy to remove from the packaging. The new packaging requires sicissors and it is almost impossible to cut the plastic to remove the battery. I worry I will cut my finger or the battery. If you weren’t required to use this kind of packaging, I urge you to change back to the old packaging.

I have bought these batteries for the last seven years and have been very satisfied, BUT they have changed the packaging, and it is now virtually impossible to get batteries out for use. Take these negative reviews to heart because, believe me, you do not want to struggle with this packaging.

Bought a 2-pack of this battery for my hearing aids. Advertised as child resistant but is actually adult resistant. I am an 85 year old woman who is not a weakling. I am going back to Duracell. Much easier to access the batteries.

I do not like the new packaging. It would be inconvenient if I was in a situation where I did not have immediate access to scissors to cut the packaging.

I Recently bought the newer version of the child resistant package of 312 hearing aid batteries. I checked on YouTube on how to cut open the package. Tried to cut open the package and found it extremely hard to cut due to arthritis in my hand. The packaging needs to be redesign for people like me. Will not buy this product again until they redesign their child/senior resistant packaging

Who’s idea was child resistant packaging

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received a new order of batteries from the VA. Your child resistant package is is also 78 y/o Veteran resistant to. It took me almost 10 mins to release 6 battery’s. The second batch was a little easier. I took a drill and drilled out those 6 dimples. If I want to keep extra battery’s in my car or my friends car I need to pre release some from the packaging. No way could I open the packaging on the road or on a trip. You really need to package some battery’s that us old folks can get in to. Think about the 60 or 70 y/o lady who lives alone. Think she could get that battery out. I know you’ll say the battery’s area chocking hazard. But . . . So are M&Ms, so are cough drops, so are peanuts. As to would I recommend this product to a friend, no, not in this packaging.

Child safe, also senior safe!

I recently bought a package of 24, size 312 batteries. Batteries are okay, but the "child safe" packaging is a nightmare. The plastic is too hard to cut with scissors. I had to resort to needle nose pliers to open the package. Once finally in, the seals on the batteries have been made smaller which is more difficult for senior, arthritic hands. Very frustrating and discouraging!
