You can cook to what temperature you desire and how you want your steak. It’s easy to clean. Heats up very fast and it cooks very fast overall it’s a great grill. It’s very accurate with the settings it has.

The cooking plates are removable making it very easy to clean. I love the versatility of it- you can cook virtually anything on it, without the hassle of firing up the outdoor grill. It makes it perfect for the winter, too. It even has sensors telling you when your food is well done, medium, or rare.

I upgraded to the xl after the plate coating wore out on my first optical smaller version I think the coating on this grill is better than the first one I had. I only hand wash them and not use the dishwasher and have not had any problems. I like the size and the temps are usualy close. Sometimes I have to pull items earlier than the light indicator says for my desired temp but that is not a big problem. I only wish it had a second set of flat plates that I could buy as an added option So I could use it more like a panini grill. That would be great

The automatic sensor appears to not work correct. We received a replacement unit several weeks ago and it worked fine with hamburgers but so far pork chops, sausage, and thick steaks have not performed automatically.

This is our second one. The first malfunctioned and couldn’t be reset so they replaced it. Now this does a similar thing. Shuts off after I’ve put the food on to cook. I Stan next to until it says it is pre heated. Put the meat on so it doesn’t get too hot but then it shuts off. I will look for another model next time. We also have a smaller TFal Optigrill ta a second house and have never had an issue with that one, when it works it works well.

I bought this a couple yrs ago & just upgraded to the XL now that I'm getting on a health kick. The original has been great for fish, chicken & steak. I understand the frustration of some other people about the manual mode & also if you have to use it again after the 1st time it's hard to understand temps. I purchased a good thermometer & would recommend this to get your temps perfect!!!

I have owned 2 of these over the years. I keep buying a new one after I wear out a set of grills which takes many hundreds of perfect steaks, etc. I should just buy replacement grill plates, but I can't live without my T Fal.

I love this grill because everything I put on it grills perfectly. I have grilled fish, chicken, steaks and pork tenderloin and it turns out awesome every time. I don't have to walk out in the cold and snow and fire up my gas grill. I can throw two burgers on the grill and they can be done in no time. I wish there was a drip guard in the back of the unit, but that is ok.

I have no problems using the XL version. It is a very useful product. It makes cooking worry-free. The beeping and color indicators makes things easier for me. I can focus on preparing other items or do other things with my time. I just wish it was slightly wider. You can cook about 3 large items comfortably. 4 large items may be difficult. If you have a large family (4+) or you want to cook a lot of items quickly, I would recommend purchasing two of these machines.
