Especially great for any teacher who would like to introduce the concept of having a class pet! Or any class that uses a voting system as a way to make decisions. We read this book in our elementary studio during our pitch-a-class-pet writers’ lab time each day and our heroes (learners) loved it! They couldn’t wait to hear what happened next. I love how they highlight the importance of voting and what democracy truly means.
