It changed colors the first time we used it, which I have heard happens sometimes with these types of pans. My partner reports that it was decently nonstick and was also easy to clean.

I received the Artist Carbon Steel Frying Pan. I was so excited that I was able to nab this sturdy pan. I love the design and easy use. The handle is long and is easy to grip. It will need to be cared for properly and not allowed to be sitting in water as that will cause it rust. I recommend cleaning it as aoon as it cools off to keep it in good condition. I immediately made a meal with it. I chose to do a stir fry, which turned out delicious on my gas stove. It distubutes heat evenly. I am so happy to have this in my kitchen.

The task says that because there were several pans to choose from, one was a pancake pan, the task doesn't list every pan. This is a carbon steel frying pan. lol I love using my artists carbon steel frying pan! I've never had a carbon steel pan, I do use my cast iron a few times a week, but I've switched to using this pan because it cooks similar to cast iron but it weighs about half as much. It heats up nicely and evenly. I followed the website directions for cleaning the first time. It does clean easily, but it says to not use soap and even on my cast iron, I'm using soap and I've had it for 15 years, no rust. I don't trust water gets dishes germ free or why do we use soap on any of them? Seasons easily.... just heat up the pan, put a few drops of oil and rub it around with a paper towel. The pan is pre-seasoned, and the dark bluish gray coating seems to come off very easily. I think it's the season coating, and it came off just using a spatula to flip fish the first time I used it. This cooked breaded fish amazingly as a lot of pans the fish sticks and then breaks apart, this did not do that. I don't use scrubbers or scrapers because I'm very picky about my pans. It is a little annoying that it comes off so easily. I feel like for the price of $150, that shouldn't happen as I've had very cheap pans not do that. The only thing I haven't tried in this pan is eggs. Overall, it's still a really great durable pan that can be used to fry or saute pretty much anything. I haven't had any issues with it sticking even though the coating rubbed off.

It also cooks perfectly! Holds heat very well while also being non-stick. (Way better than stainless steel.) Also super easy to clean! Would highly recommend.

I’ve had many before, but the chicken was sliding right off the pan with no stuck resident to scrub off. Just rinsed with hot water to clean.

I love the fact that it has an extra large decorative handle to easily move around while on the stove. We have used it both for frying up some mixed veggies and also stir fry with chicken, which it handled both with ease. It heated very quickly and seemed to distribute the heat relatively well. Also, due to the coating on the inside of the pan, the cleanup was a breeze and I didn’t have any sticking or any greasiness. I do wish that it was a little deeper so that I could feel more comfortable frying chicken or something in more oil. Overall, I feel like it is extremely well made and looks beautiful.
