McDavid Sport Compression Knit Knee Sleeve with Gel Buttress

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This brace was incredibly comfortable, with the material being soft and stretchy, yet tight at the same time. Unfortunately, this product was too big for me, so it fell down whenever I was moving around and didn’t stay around my knee. The compression around the ends of the sleeve was enough, but it was too loose around my actual kneecap to stay in place to where it would help stabilize and support my knee’s movement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently started having some knee pain, which an orthopedic diagnosed as a significant arthritis problem in my patella (kneecap). I’ve been going to physical therapy for it but can definitely use some added support for more active things I enjoy such as tennis and Pickleball. This McDavid compression knit sleeve arrived just in time for those sporting activities. It has lots of four-way stretch and breathability due to its knit-type elastic construction, while retaining good compression and fit. It is very comfortable to wear and provides a lot of protection, as I’ve shown with the inside-out photo with the gel buttress. It’s listed as level two moderate support for soft tissue and patella, which is exactly what I would choose for my arthritis related discomfort. I wouldn’t want anything heavier or more constricting. As this is made with nylon and spandex (elastane) and the buttress from TPE (thermoplastic), this works for those who have neoprene allergies and will fit your left or right knee. It’s an excellent quality product and hand washable, too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The gel ring around the knee cap is a cool idea and it did provide some extra stabilization, but it didn’t keep the brace in place. It needed a grippy edge on the top and bottom to keep it in place better or a velcro strap around the top to keep it up. Compression is great, but if you have thighs at all, it slides down so a shorter top with a longer bottom and the gripping material on the inside might actually help keep it in place better without having to add a strap.

It stays in place, feels comfortable, and offers the right amount of compression. If you’re looking for reliable knee support without discomfort, this is a great option.

The gel buttress fit great and made the sleeve extra comfortable to wear for long stretches. I wish it was a little more breathable but that’s a trade off for the extra support.

I like that it is compact and can fold nicely where it is flexible but not bulky. But the gel buttress was an interesting feeling when wearing the knee sleeve. It did provide a bit of support, but a little bit of discomfort as well even when it was surrounding the knee cap. I think it’s a product that feels lightweight and somewhat breathable if only worn for a certain period of time daily

Just like any other knee brace, it can slip down slowly during the day, but it still feels good. this knee sleeve/brace adds a lot of support to my knee; really impressive;much better than I expected.
