Q: At only 30" high from floor to top of the back of the chair, this seems very short for an adult. Doesn't seem like it would be very comfortable...?

Beautiful chairs but very uncomfortable. If you don't mind feeling like you're sitting on a hard bench then they are great, but the seat has no give whatsoever. Returned them for this reason, but well made and stylish!
