My expectations weren’t too high with ordering barstools from target. I don’t know why but I just wasn’t expecting what I got. I knew I needed 4 but I started with 2 to see if I liked them. We didn’t even have the second one put together before I ordered my second set. These barstools are better than what I could have purchased at my local furniture store. The price was on point with quality as I got 2 stools for the price of just one stool I was looking at an under priced furniture store. The color is a little darker than I was expecting but nothing that made me want to return them. The seat is very wide making it easy for my son to get up and down. They are very sturdy! The seat contours to my butt making it very comfortable. If you’re on the fence, just order them. They’re pretty dang good for the price.

Chairs look nice but they must be assembled. Wood is rather soft so they'll eventually scratch and jeans with raised brass will gouge these. Immediately after assembling, the top back of one chair pulled off where it was glued at the factory. Solved by gluing myself so some sloppy QA at the factory. Finish seems decent, all the parts were included and the instructions were easy to follow. Where pegs were predrilled it required removing the splintered pieces protruding so they would fit into the slots. Note these are berry red and not the RED description mentioned on Target's page. The picture is obviously berry red (dark) but just in case you select based on the color name! We bought 4 of those and no padding on the feet so we added felt pads to protect our wood floors. The chairs are level and sturdy. There were bought on sale and came to about $150 per chair. While they match the color we wanted and finding this shade was a bit hard, not sure they are $150 chairs but maybe sub-$100. The shipped boxes are 51lbs per two chairs so maybe 1/3 the built-in cost is shipping since it's "free" shipping.
