The mattress is ok - it certainly softer than a regular futon. It is not really navy at all, but more of a teal. This is fine with me, but if you want navy you are not getting it. The material covering the matresss is a kind of velour material and it is a magnet for every but of dust of fluff. Mine is in a guest room that is not much used, but if you have pets this would be a def no unless you covered it with something else. The frame is ok . Design wise it is more modern and clean than a lot of futons or covertable sofas. The stain is very cheap and it is very susceptible to scratches and bumps. It would be perfectly fine it if were cheaper, but for the quality it is a bit overpriced. I had a friend help me put it together and it was not terrible but it took us 2.5 hours. It is hard to moe back and forth into position with the mattress on it, just in case you have never had a futon before - you have to lift the whole wieght of the mattress.

Looks great and pretty comfortable. I will probably get an additional mattress pad for sleeping on it (I’m super particular and want to make sure my guests are comfortable) but as a couch it’s great! Definitely the same dark teal in the photo but I love it! One thing I wasn’t super happy with was the “button tufts” are just thick plastic bits. I’m probably going to find some close-matching fabric and make fabric covered buttons to sew over them. Assembly does take time but is not hard at all though I would recommend having someone help you fix the main frame into the arms. Honestly, I’m very happy with it.
