Seoul Vegan Spicy Kimchi - 14oz

Very bummed, I almost wonder if I can return this. The flavor is okay, very spicy, but the vegetables are SO soggy. No crunch at all. Very unsatisfying. Will not buy again.

This used to be my go to kimchi when I can’t make it to the Asian market but the last couple I’ve bought have been disgusting. The flavor is horrible and cabbage is soft and soggy.

Mushy and very sour 🤢 added honey for balance. Waste!

This kimchi was NOT good at all. When I opened it, the first thing I noticed, there was no juice! I decided to give it a taste, the kimchi was soft and mushy. I threw the jar in the trash. This was the 2nd time I have purchased kimchi from Target and both times resulted in a bad product from the supplier. I won't be buying kimchi from Target again.

I’m very picky with my kimchi and this one is actually super good!!!! I love it. I’m on a keto diet and it curbs my craving for spicy chips!

Decent for it being store bought. I opened and it sizzled up and starting pouring out slowly. My kids didn’t love it but personally it did the job.

Worst I've ever tasted. Target please get the Nasoya Mild Napa Cabbage authentic Korean Kimchi instead

Personally I think it’s a decent kimchi for it being store bought! The spice level is spicy but not overwhelming! It has a nice crunch to it and very flavorful.

I am Korean American. As such, trust me when I say, I have had kimchi all my life, and various ones at that, since I have lived in Korea, Japan, and America. This is Americanized Kimchi. The flavors are not as in depth and "stinky" as true Korean Kimchi, which gives it a refreshing, crisp feeling. The best part of this kimchi that native Korean kimchi doesn't have in abundance is the harsh sting of carbonization. Some Korean kimchi indeed has this stinging sensation of carbonization, but most do not. The way this kimchi is made, the carbonization is strong. Some prefer that taste, similar to the sting in Kombucha tea or carbonized Kefir milk yogurts, and some don't like it. If you like that, this is going to be phenomenal kimchi. My favorite kimchi is the Japanized kimchi, which they call "ki mu chi". It is very different than the ones in Korea, usually more sweeter and somewhat like pickled radish flavor. You cannot get kimuchi in Japanese markets in America, because though it's in Japanese letters, it's usually imported from native Korea. Kimuchi made Japanese style for Japanese consumers in Japan tastes different. Seoul Kimchi is palatable for the American audience, especially for non-Koreans. Koreans may find this taste unsuitable, as it is not the native nor authentic flavor. However, much like fusion sushi (California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Philly Roll, etc.) does not exist in Japan (only the native nigiri zushi is the real sushi in Japan), and like the fortune cookie and "orange chicken" is an Americanized concotion of Chinese food, this Americanized kimchi is delicious and fantastic. I find nothing wrong with this phenomenal taste. In fact, I prefer this over my native Kimchi, which sometimes has oysters or lots and lots of gochugaru, which gives it a deeper, umami flavor. This flavor is not so much umami, it is more crisp and refreshing, like a cucumber...with a tart and carbonized sting flavor. It has a clean aftertaste. Real Korean kimchi has a long aftertaste that sticks around, but this Americanized one has a clean aftertaste. Jeesh, you probably don't know what I'm talking about, but as a lifelong kimchi eater from my native Korea, other Koreans probably know what I mean.

This is my favorite kimchi of all time!! The consistency of the cabbage can differ between crunchy and not for sure but the flavor is so good! This is a constant in my household.

This was all Target had my day in store, so I got it thinking kimchi is kimchi. Nope. This is weird kimchi. Basically tastes like kombucha, weak overall flavor (decent heat), and the cabbage isn't shredded - just huge chunks. For reference, a really good kimchi (to me) is Cleveland Kimchi (comes in a sealable bab). No kombucha taste; shredded nicely; great flavor + spice/heat combo.

I like both this spicy version and the regular flavor. They are both very tasty. Really glad the store near me carries the spicy now!

I buy one in a while when craving and don’t want to make but never worth it. Never made quality. Often way too sour (from someone who loves sour). Not always fully sealed. Much better and cheaper to homemade.

I just got this today for the first time because i was looking for Kimchi without the shrimp flavor and this showed up at Target online. So delicious! I'd say it's medium spicy to me which is perfect. Good sour flavor too. Just overall really good. I'm going back for more because they only had a few left! One star off for the jar leaking all over in my bag on the way home - i would have returned if i wasnt so eager to try it.

I loooove this kimchi!!! Add it to your fried rice or cup noodles, or just a snack if ur craving something spicy. Absolutely delicious
