A: the answer is NO, unless you are buying in a club store, where typically two jars are sealed in a large cardboard backer, which cannot be opened in the store. sSngle jars are not sealed.

After just three night, my eyelids are red, sensitive and burn so bad when I apply even just gentle products. I feel burning when applying other products all over my face but my eyelids so far are the worst. My instinct is that the retinol is top strong but I've been using other retinol products and haven't had any issues. I won't be applying this again and hope this burning feeling goes away fast.

I am loving this cream. It was recommended as affordable “drug store” skincare by a dermatologist. Been using a week with a hyaluronic acid face wash and yesterday someone asked me if I was wearing makeup because my skin looks so good!

I tried the Olay Retinol 24 night moisturizer. Had high hopes but sadly this product pills so bad after applying and just sits on my skin and does not absorb. After looking on reddit I discovered this is a common issue. Wont be buying any more.

I decided I wanted to start trying to use a moisturizer now that I am in menopause. First few applications were fine after that a burning sensation. Then a full bright red skin burning and flaking of skin around my eyes. I have stopped using it.

I've been using this for 3 weeks and felt that was a long enough time for a review. I've noticed a little bit of change, especially with the feel of my skin. It feels clear and healthy (I have dry skin but get a pimple once in a while - nothing seen in that realm for 3 weeks). I had some red spots and larger red areas that are fading. I haven't noticed any texture improvements yet. I think I messed up the process by dermaplaning one night so I think as the hairs grow back they are creating small bumps. Hopefully that will go away soon. I'm lucky not to have wrinkles so there's no change on that. The product does pill if you put on too much. But I try to put on a medium amount that will absorb in and won't pill. I notice pilling the most on my temples which may be more oily on me? I'm not sure. I'm going to continue using this and hope for continued improvements.

I have to agree with the dislikes most people are listing. Feels very silicone-y on top of your skin, almost how some primers do. Not moisturizing. It also burned my upper eyelids, right below my eyebrows. They are so sensitive for days after stopping use. I was blaming hormones on my terrible breakout but I’m almost sure it was this product now. Sad I threw out the box cause I would be returning it.

This moisturiser contains several different types of silicon, hence why it leaves a "slippery" feeling on the skin and does not absorb in. The texture reminds me of the silicon-based headline treatments I used to use on the kids! Will not re-purchase

Did nothing for me. I put it over the red Olay so it hasn’t burned and goes on nice. No smell. But I see no improvement in age spots or wrinkles after several weeks of nightly use.

Good thing was I did not have a reaction. But it feels like it just sits on my skin, like it's not absorbed. It has a weird filmy, plastic feel on my skin. I find it odd, too, that they don't disclose what percentage retinol it contains, claiming it's "proprietary". Other brands tell you because it's important to know the strength. Consumers look for a certain strength of retinol, whether it's 0.025%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 1%, etc. so it's not "proprietary info" because it's just informed buying, especially if they want to continue using the same retinol strength that's been working for them. It's like knowing what mg Vit. C you're buying. Some take a low dosage like 250mg, some a higher like 1000mg. So because the retinol strength is not disclosed, I won't be buying this again. For all I know, it can contain hardly any.

In the meantime, that feeling may be a result of too much product being used so it's not able to fully absorb into the skin. The product can also be too moisturizing for your skin type as well. For a better experience, consider using less than you normally would and massage it gently into your skin until it flly absorbs. I typically love Olay products, but this one is terrible. The product pills after application. I read reviews to make sure if sands Josh me and it seems many others are having the issue as well. I’m upset I wasted my money.

Pilling can happen if too much moisturizer is being applied or by rubbing it in too hard. We recommend using a little less product and patting it onto your skin instead of rubbing it in. If that doesn't help, try switching to a serum because the cream may be too moisturizing for your skin. Our Retinol 24 Night Smoothing Serum would be a great option. I have been using this nightly moisturizer for 6 months now and I really love it - my skin feels super soft and I haven't had any breakouts or issues - highly recommend!
