47" Norfolk Solid Wood TV Stand - WyndenHall

Defective, a whole $15 credit. It cost $505. Requested no replacement but would like at least 15 percent refund for keeping the damaged furniture. Somebody look into it for me and make it happen.

Packaging: It was packaged well with a combination of styrofoam, cardboard and plastic sheeting protecting the parts. Upon opening the box, the bag containing all of the hard was open and had spilled the various bags containing all of the screws and dowels, cams, cam screws, etc. all over the box. Most of them were still sealed in their bags, but the cams and cam screws had spilled all over the box. Thankfully, as I unpacked all of the pieces and found them, they were all there. Build: It went together fairly easily, but I am a very handy guy. For non-handy persons, I would recommend two people to put this together. Even being handy, it did take me a few hours from start to finish. For the most part, all of the pieces fit together as they should and I only had one cam/cam screw that did not seem to tighten the whole way for whatever reason. Even after making sure the cam screw was just tight and then tightening the cam lock, it would not lock and the joint remianed sloppy, but that was really a non-issue. I will say that the two bottom drawers aren't quite as centered in their openings as I would like, but again, that's just me being overly critical. Lastly, I had a heck of a time getting the hinges on the right-hand door adjusted to match the left. I eventually got it to "close enough for governemnt work" because it would be held closed by the magnetic catch. Quality: Overall, I would say that the quality is good. The color wasn't quite what we expected. It was more brown than my wife and I thought it was going to be. It appears to be mostly brown with some wash of gray here and there. There were some blemishes here and there, but nothing major that cannot be fixed with a scratch filler or wood crayon. Everything considered, I would have been happy if I had paid $100 less for this item. But it does look nice in our addition.

Absolutely love this unit. I was struggling to find one at this length and height with lots of storage space that could be tucked away so I was very happy when I found this. Packaging was wonderful, not a single damaged piece and it was pretty straight forward to put together. Very happy!

I love that everything is made of wood (amost all of it is solid pine). The drawer sides and backs are each made of multiple pieces of wood (there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but, it's not uniform) and the cuts for the drawer bottom to rest in can be either really nice or really poor. The backing plates (these make up the back of the TV stand that your wiring goes through) are made out of a really thin 3-layer plywood with a wood face and some sort of woven textile back (I can't tell what the middle layer is). The drawer bottoms are made out of the same type of plywood. I ordered the 37" black version. The manufacturer did an excellent job packing the contents (almost everything is padded/wrapped to prevent shipong damage) There are problems when it comes to quality assurance and manufacturing defects. The first one had a broken section on the right verticle side, a bent rail on a left drawer side, angled screws on a left drawer side, a dented door corner, and one of the drawer backs was splitting. None of that damage was from transit/shipping Target sent an advanced replacement so that I could part swap what I needed and select better parts if there were any. I was able to get the parts that I needed and, a better center rail section, a better left verticle support (the shelves fit on this), and a better right drawer side. Target also arranged for a free UPS pickup for the return and, gave me a $10 gift card (phenomenal guest service Chris!). The reason for the 3 star review is, the finish on both TV stands was all over the place (parts in the first one didn't match each other, parts in the second one didn't match each other, parts from the first didn't match the second even though they had the same batch code). Some parts are matte with a very light lacquer that let's you see the grain (super nice looking). Other parts have so much lacquer that they appear glossy as if they are glass or polished plastic (it looks terrible and makes no sense at all). All the parts on the first one had the hardware/fitting areas cut after the lacquer was applied (all the plywood had unfinished edges). All the parts on the second one had the hardware/fitting areas cut before the lacquer was applied (all the plywood had painted edges). I'm going to have to hand sand the lacquer down so that everything is matte and so that I can see the grain (except the top surface as it's already matte and I want the grain hidden on it). I don't have an issue doing that since I bought it on sale (it was around $230.something after tax and the $10 gift card). There is no way this item is worth the MSRP of $338.99 though due to the issues I've described. Nothing is going to be perfect nor made of hardwood for that price but, anything in that price range should have a decent and semi-uniform finish. Some of the smaller pieces are slightly warped (some edges have a tiny amount of twist) but, that's to be expected with pine and cheaper furniture. I'll update this review after I've refinished the pieces and assembled the TV stand.

I ordered this on Christmas Eve and it was here less than a week later. Once it shipped, the shipping itself took less than 2 days. Not too difficult to put together. Took my husband and dad about 2-3 hrs together. All the pre-drilled holes were lined up perfectly. There was one piece they had to saw the edge off because it was a bit too wide, but that was the only adjustment (and I'd rather that than the piece be too small!). The stand itself is beautiful. Color as expected. I just used different knobs to give it a bit more pop. Very solid, heavy. We'll still anchor it to the wall just in case, but I hardly think that's necessary. I don't see my toddlers being able to pull it over. The backing and drawer bottoms are a real piece of wood, not cardboard or cheap plywood.

Actually looks way nicer in person. Would recommend however there were some manufacturing errors. One of the magnetic close pieces was missing (which is fine for us as we don’t really need the magnetic closure to close the door). The shelves came w/grooves to rest in the nails and keep them in place however they must’ve been laser cut wrong bc one of our shelves is wobbly. Other than that I’d recommend the piece.

I was apprehensive about this purchase. I was surprised with the furniture while assembling. It went together pretty easy. It just took a while to complete. I would have given it a 5 star rating but a necessary hole was not drilled. I have contacted the manufacturer and l am waiting for a resolution.

I don't typically buy this kind of knock-down, flat-pack type furniture. But I was looking for a media cabinet for some retro stereo equipment, and this seemed to fit the bill at a good price (primarily driven by a 25% off one furniture item flash sale the day I bought it). The box arrived on my doorstep in short order. Part of the cardboard box was wet and there were some other dents here and there, but the packaging did its job well and I found no damage to any of the pieces packed inside. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this piece. It is just about 100% solid wood; only the drawer bottoms and the back cover panels are some kind of compressed board. That being said, it's not hardwood, so this isn't going to become some heirloom piece you hand down to future generations. The wood is actually quite soft (rubberwood perhaps?), so be VERY careful not to overdrive the screws during assembly or you'll strip out the wood. And you might consider putting something like a table runner or placemat under your TV to keep from damaging the top surface. Assembly took me about 3 hours, working carefully. This piece is very well designed and sturdy, I must say. I found all the holes to be lined up perfectly. They provide an entire bag of extra fasteners of all kinds, just in case you break or lose some. Some of the fasteners are "cam-lock" type. The trick with these is to first drive the screw ONLY until the shoulder of the screw just makes contact with the wood, and no further. If you drive the screw further until the shoulder is sinking into the wood, the cam-lock may not work properly. Once the screws are placed and you assemble the pieces, place the cam-locks VERY carefully, then turn them slowly but deliberately until they are locked (about 1/4 turn). If the cam-lock gets bent, take a new one from the spare hardware bag and try again more carefully. The cam-locks should be simple but they really can be the toughest part of the assembly to get right. The only other caution is that many of the wood screws are driven into the end grain of the various pieces. This is not good woodworking practice, and just makes it that much easier to strip out the wood if you over-drive the screws. So go lightly with the wood screws and don't torque them very much. But once you get this piece together it is very well-braced and stout, and you'll forget the few small difficulties of the assembly process. The color is very nice. I found it to be quite close to the color shown on my computer screen. It reminds me of the light brown color of some popular Danish furniture from the 50's and 60's. For me, the look is maybe more mid-century modern than "shaker". There was some odor from the wood finish for a few days, but it's pretty much gone now. This piece is made in Vietnam, and I think they've done a good job. This media cabinet exceeded my expectations at a great price, and I'm very pleased with it.

The quality of this item is very high, but the pricing varies widely on the target site. I am upset that is now listed "full price" for $55 less than I paid when it was "on sale" a few weeks ago.

Very sturdy for the price. It takes patience and skill to put this together.

This knock-down cabinet was packed well. The box was slightly damaged, but the contents were protected and survived shipping with no issues. The quality is very good. All solid wood, nicely finished, clear instructions, tight tolerances, and solid hardware.

It was delivered when promised, with no damage. The fit and finish is great. It looks as great as the picture. It did take some time to assemble, but the pieces were well marked.

I received a simpli home shaker TV stand one day ahead of schedule however five major parts were damaged! the damage was not in shipping but at the manufacturer as the box was intact and carefully delivered. I have contacted the manufacturer per the instructions inside the box and they say they are shipping replacement parts but I still haven't seen them.
