Harvey Contemporary Computer Desk - LumiSource

I purchased this desk, and when it arrived I was so very excited as it was exactly what I was looking for. However, within one month, the finish had begun to fade. It is now a different color altogether. If I move my computer monitor or other artifacts I have on the desk, you can see how the light has faded the finish as the original color remains, where the items had been sitting. I also don't believe the desk is solid wood like was advertised. Save your money for a more well made piece of furniture.

Super cute desk. For the price point, I'd expect the drawers to move a little more on a track (they are just lodged in there and bounce around a bit) but that is survivable. The big issue - risk of damage and what happens next. Our desk was delivered on time. Great tracking. The box was recieved undamaged, no marks, no tears in packaging. Upon removal from the packaging, the particle board on that top layer - above the drawers - was crushed in a spot. Split. Now, I bought the desk due to the reviews and description stating solid wood. The top shelf at a minimum is NOT solid wood. However, the desk weighs a ton so at least a portion IS solid wood. Box open, notice the split wood, what are our options? Returning the desk. Target does not offer a competitive return process. We would need to repackage and HAUL THE 100 lb. desk to either a drop-off location or store. They don't do pickup. Upon calling Target - after numerous conversations - we did get a percentage refund but we could NOT get them to budge on picking up the damanaged item. Now I need to pay more than my refunded percentage to FIX the damaged desk. If hauling a desk of that size to a drop-off location is worth the hassle, have at it. Just know if the desk comes damaged, the reality is haul it or fix it. Again, great looking desk, but I will always see the damage.

The desk itself is simple but I love the design. It is a solid piece, a huge step up from a basic laminate item. It makes me feel like I mean business! The only assembly was attaching the legs.
