Lamp is a nice size for a child's desk. The base seems sturdy but did display small defects. The lamp shade is terrible. It is not sturdy or well made. Dents as you take it out of package. I considered keeping lamp and purchasing a new shade, but that cost much more than I want to spend for a lamp of this quality. Will be returning this item.

I would give this 5 stars, except the "stones" have a tendency to shift just a bit if you pick it up towards the top. I do like the looks of this, however. It doesn't feel cheap, and is heavy enough that it won't fall over easily. It only takes a 40 watt bulb, but I'm using a smart LED bulb, so I am using a 60 watt dimmable equivalent, so I get plenty of brightness. This lamp is more contemporary, not at all traditional. It's perfect for my bedside table.
