Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner

Everyone tells you that Pantene is a brand known for its affordable but substandard products but is that true? People look at Pantene and ask the question “why are there so many ingredients doing one simple thing?” The question I want to answer is: “are all the ingredients in Pantene's products needed?” My goal here today is to explain what each ingredient is and for you to decide if there are still too many ingredients. Having already written a review for Pantene Moisture Shampoo, I am going to dive into the Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner. There are 10 ingredients (not including water and fragrance) in this conditioner, and to help simplify what everything does, I am going to separate the ingredients into 3 different categories: preservatives, conditioners, and cleaners/emulsifiers. The first group we will tackle is preservatives, which are there so the product can last and not grow mold. Since there's water in the product, it can grow bacteria fast, which becomes a problem if you put it in your hair. There are 3 different preservatives in this conditioner: Methylisothiazolinone Methylchloroisothiazolinone Benzyl Alcohol. The next group is conditioners. The ingredients in this category help strengthen your hair, seal split ends, and moisturize your hair. The purpose of this product is to help condition your hair, so it doesn’t surprise me that the most amount of ingredients are in this category. There are 4 ingredients in this category; Citric acid Histidine Panthenol Stearyl alcohol. These ingredients also help seal split ends and balance pH, contributing to your hair's health. The last group is cleaners, and emulsifiers. Cleaners are there to help remove excess oil and dirt from the mids and ends of your hair. They leave you with the cleansed hair while the conditions leave you with soft and smooth hair. Emulsifiers help thicken and combine ingredients, and are like a bag for all the ingredients. There are 3 items in this category; Cetyl Alcohol Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid Sodium Chloride. In conclusion, each and every ingredient in this conditioner adds to the product. You need to try this product because all hair is different, and there is a chance this product doesn’t work for you. Even though there are a lot of ingredients, you can’t judge a book by its cover before trying or learning more about it. I've tried so many conditioners, nothing works as good as this one. Just to give you an example: kerastase, amika, redken, matrix, etc. Nothing conditions as good as this. Always get compliments from hair dressers if I use it 😂

I just love this conditioner it makes my hair smell so good and makes my hair so soft

I've been using this for years, but the fragrance recently changed, and not in a good way. Smells like cheap perfume now. I'll be looking for nee haircare products.

They messed with the ingredients and lost so many loyal customers. This was my HG conditioner for years but not it doesn't moisturize as well and it doesn't smell the same. Hair feels much more dry and it smells weird after being outside. Kinda like a wet dog smell. It never did this before. I saw a lot of people saying the problem is the glycerin they added, but there's also sodium chloride now too, PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!

They changed the formula. Used this for years and now it doesn't moisturize hair as well or even smell the same. Such a bummer.

I have dry, thin waves. I have tried expensive brands but always come back to Pantene. This conditioner is my favorite.

I have a LOT of super fine hair. Being fine, my strands are more prone to damage. While I rarely heat-style my hair, it still takes a beating when I throw it up in a bun or pony. This conditioner does a really great job of protecting my ends from splitting. I apply it from the middle of my hair down and have found that it doesn't seem to weigh my hair down. I use it daily and it rinses well and smells great. My go-to conditioner for years!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have waited two months for a colorist to give me full or partial highlights because he wanted my hair in better shape. I bought his high end conditioner as well as several others - my choice. While at a discount store I saw this conditioner and thought I would add it too my arsenal since it was only cost a few dollars. Not having confidence of the product doing anything more for my hair and it was better! So the next time I washed my hair I use this product on its own and was shocked! Never having any bounce left in my hair and not wanting heaviness as with other conditioners, I am AMAZED! Soft, shiny, bouncy and HEALTHIER LOOKING THAN ITS EVER BEEN! WOW, WHAT A FIND!

I have been a Pantene user for a long time, but I only use their shampoo until I thought to try out their conditioner. Horrible idea, I don’t know what is wrong with this conditioner but it is making my hair clump out. I have never had a problem with hair loss until using this conditioner. Do not get it!!!! I will not be purchasing again!

I feel like they definitely changed the formula on this one. I've used this daily moisture renewal for over 1 1/2 yrs and recently with my recent purchases of Pantene my hair has so much damage and so much breakage now. I spent almost 3 yrs growing out my hair only suffer a ton of breakage, damage and dry hair. I'm so angry and sad about this. I don't think I can recommend this anymore at all. I did notice that the consistency of this one used to be thick but now it's a bit thinner and comes out easier. My hair looks and feels so awful.

Great conditioner especially for the price.

Smells great but makes me face break out. Also causes my daughter to have an itchy scalp. Unfortunately not for us.

I love Pantene. The reason for the three stars is that they aren’t cruelty free verified, because they still sell their product in China. I really hope they do soon. My hair misses it! Please give the people what we want!

I have full, fine, long straight hair and I needed an affordable conditioner since I wash my hair every day and with my hair being so long, I go through a ton! I only apply to my middle & ends and it really works great. No weight or greasyness like I've had with other conditioners, this had been my go to for years

i don’t know what it is with my hair and conditioner, but not all work. some really leave my hair feeling like i didn’t condition it at all no matter how much i may apply. i couod get by using a half pump of this conditioner, just a little dollop, and it always makes my hair immediately smooth and easily detanglable. i don’t know what it is about this specific conditioner but it’s amazing, and if you notice that your hair is stubborn to many conditioners that you try and you feel like the job should be done better, go ahead and give this a try. my hair is dry at the ends, bleached, and wavy and i’ve used this even back when i had virgin hair, and still use it now because it continues to make my hair feel great and manageable.

Love this conditioner

It detangles when you put it in wet hair, then after rinsing, it becomes dry and frizzy. I really wanted to like it. Don’t like the smell of Pantene either, but I would tolerate it if it made my hair soft and smooth. The shampoo is equally as terrible. I tried the smooth one too and it gave me the same results.

I love this conditioner, it makes my hair feel soft and not frizzie. I really wish they'd bring back the old packaging for the 25 oz bottles, I don't like the pump, you can't get everything out
