We use this primarily for paid cooking events or special meals. The taste really pulls through differently than an extract.

I haven't used the paste yet, because I am not baking a lot now, but the liquid extract has great flavor. A little pricey, but worth getting a good one if you enjoy vanilla! I had reason to speak with the company and was impressed their representatives knowledge of their products. She even knew why they called it "Singing Dog". Nope. You have to call yourself and ask!

Full disclosure—I LOVE vanilla bean! And that's why I wanted to try this product. Every recipe I have baked with the Vanilla Bean Paste has received applause. From my teenage granddaughter: "Granny, I always love your Sopapilla, but did you do something different tonight? It's s-o-o-o-o-o good!" "Yes, I added my new secret ingredient—Vanilla Bean Paste!"

This is the best vanilla flavor I have ever tasted. It is smooth in taste and does not leave the bitter alcohol after-taste that some extracts leave. It has the seeds in it as well so it is just as good as using a real vanilla bean without the extra work. I am on my 3rd jar and will continue to use it for everything that calls for vanilla flavor. Excellent in home-made ice cream as well and doesn't have the freezing issues that some alcohol based vanilla extracts can have.

I am not pleased with this product. It's more of a vanilla syrup rather then a paste. I was expecting a more concentrate product that could be used in place of scraping out vanilla beans but the flavor and consistency are not good for many recipes and I will not purchase it again. Usually I am very satisfied with the products from Swansons.

First time ordering Vanilla paste. I normally use a good quality liquid. I did my christmas baking, the quality was awesome as well as the price. I definitely will purchase again.
