The gold is quite a bit more bold than it appears in the picture, so it’s basically a white paint in the crevices and solid gold on top. It reflects sunlight nicely though. I will probably paint over it. It’s not super heavy but it feels solid enough as my intended use is for it to be the headboard for a twin bed.
