Q: Why are these bottles so hard to open? I've bought it twice several months apart, and they both had the same problem. The metal cap just spins and won't separate from the tamper ring.
A: First, we apologize for the experience, and unfortunately, this does happen from time to time. We call these caps ‘Spinners’, and as you know, it is impossible to twist off. We do not recommend using a knife or any other sharp object to remove the cap, as we would not want you to accidentally get hurt. If this happens again, please feel free to contact our Customer Service team so we can collect the production information located on the back label. We will share these details with our quality control experts for further review. Again, our apologies for any inconvenience.

Q: Many olive oils are not 100% olive oil as organized crime controls the distribution of olive oil outside of the USA. How can consumers be sure that the product is pure and 100% olive oil?
A: There are three main entities that enforce standards for extra virgin olive oil in the United States. We elect to certify to the Olive Oil Commission of California (OOCC) standards - as it is revered as one of the strictest sets of standards for extra virgin olive oil in the world. We use an OOCC-approved lab that is accredited and certified to do olive oil testing, with both International Olive Council (IOC) and American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS) accreditation. All our products are certified extra virgin and feature a certification seal from Applied Sensory, an independent, third-party sensory panel and certifying body. Applied Sensory certifies extra virgin olive oils from all over the world to the OOCC standard.

Q: Are your oils date coded?
A: Our olive oils have a harvest date and “Best If Used By” date printed on the back label. The harvest date refers to when the oil was picked and pressed. In the United States and Europe, this happens once a year from October-December. In South America, this happens once a year in April-June. Up until bottling, our EVOO is stored in stainless steel tanks that preserve the quality of the oil. Once opened, we recommend using up your oil within 30-60 days.

Q: Can this oil be used for baking and cooking? Is it OK to heat if to sautee vegetables?
A: Our oil can be used for baking, and sautéing. Below is also the approved consumer template on the smoke point of our olive oil. More Tips and Tricks can be found on our website. Smoke Point Template: The smoke point for our oil is over 425ºF. One of the most common myths we encounter in the olive oil community is that extra virgin olive oil has a low smoke point. In fact, the smoke point of olive oil is directly correlated with the quality of the oil – better, fresher oil has a very high smoke point. In a study we have done, and many others replicated- the results showed that our oil began to smoke around 425ºF. Well above frying temperature.
